Jhune's POV

"NO WAY."

I crossed my both arms in front of me.

"Come on, please." She pouted. "Just do it for me." She continued to plead.

I ignored her and kept stirring the soup I was cooking. We were in the kitchen, I was busy cooking while she sat at the table.

I spent the night here. I couldn't go home last night because I couldn't leave her, especially since she was drunk.

"Please. Just agree this one time." She begged.

I glanced at her and raised an eyebrow.

"Why are you so insistent that I join that mixer, huh?" I glared at her. "I don't have time for that. Tsk."

I was so busy with my part time job that I even forgot to eat. And now she's asking me to go with her? It was just a waste of time.

Earlier, when she woke up, she immediately started pestering me. Apparently, she wants me to join a mixer date with her friends.

I ladled the soup into a bowl and placed it in front of her. I told her to eat, but she just pouted. I took a deep breath.

"Fine." I conceded. Her face lit up when she looked at me.

"Really?!" She sounded excited.

"But." Her smile faded when she heard my follow-up statement..

"Give me a good reason to agree to this."

I'm okay with doing her a favor, but I need to know why she wants me to pretend to be her boyfriend in front of her friends.

She avoided my gaze and fidgeted with her fingers.

"Ahmm." She cleared her throat.

"B-because I don't want to be a third wheel?"

She couldn't look me in the eye, she's clearly lying. I crossed my arms over my chest and stared at her intently.

I saw her gulp when our eyes met. I glared at her.

"So? What's that got to do with me? If you don't want to be a third wheel, then just don't go. Tsk," I replied nonchalantly before sipping my coffee.

"It's not that easy." She pouted. "I also have my reasons..."

I sighed. "That's why I'm asking you, but instead of telling me the truth you kept lying."

She took a deep breath before looking at me.

"Okay. I'll tell you." She cleared her throat before continuing. "The truth is, I don't want to be embarrassed in front of my friends. They'll laugh at me if they find out my ex dumped me," she explained.

"I don't want them to mocked me." She was almost in tears.

I felt guilty even though I hadn't done anything wrong. I reached out and patted her head to cheer her up.

"Silly." I smiled. "If you had just told me that earlier, this conversation wouldn't have taken so long."

"I'm more than willing to help you."

"Huh?" She said, confused. "Does that mean you agree?!"

I nodded and took another sip of my coffee. Her eyes widened, and she immediately hugged me from behind.
