Russel's POV

I felt a wave of nervousness wash over me, a sinking feeling that something bad was about to happen. From inside the car, I glanced at the building where he was.

It had been a long time since we last spoke, but this time, everything felt different.

I took a deep breath, gathering my resolve before stepping out of the car. I made my way toward the entrance.

One of his staff members greeted me and led me to a room where he was waiting.

As we walked down the hallway, I couldn't shake the unsettling vibe that clung to the place. It felt like something straight out of a horror movie.

The hallway was dimly lit, with only a few lights flickering overhead. We ascended the staircase, and as I reached the second floor, I noticed it was markedly different from what I had seen on the first floor.

It almost feels like this building is purposely made to look abandoned from the outside to avoid suspicion. He really is clever.

When we reached the last room at the end of the hallway, he gestured for me to enter. I turned the doorknob, and without making a sound, I stepped into the dark room.

My eyes were immediately drawn to the lampshade, the only source of light illuminating the entire room.

He was there, sitting on a long couch, wearing a bathrobe while sipping wine, casually enjoying himself as he gazed out at the night without a care in the world.

"мастер" I pressed my lips together, determined not to stutter as I spoke. Master.

"Oh, I see you’ve finally arrived." His deep baritone voice filled the room, echoing through the four corners.

I bowed slightly out of respect. I made sure to move only as I was expected to.

I felt his sharp, tantalizing eyes pierce through me—those eyes that never failed to make me feel anxious.

"Давно не виделись," he said, staring directly at me. It's been a while. "How have you been?" Those were not the words I was expecting.

He walked closer and stopped a few steps away from me.

I straightened up and looked directly ahead. "Yes, it has indeed been a while, мастер." Master.

His lips curled into a smile. "But you don't seem very happy to see me." I could see the amusement etched across his face.

I stood frozen in place, stunned by his words. I calmed myself before meeting his gaze.

"That's not it," I swallowed hard, trying to keep my composure. "Forgive my insolence." I bowed my head once more.

"Хорошо," he replied, returning to his seat, while I remained standing. Very well

Silence settled between us. I watched as he sipped his wine, and after carefully setting the glass on the ceramic table, he finally spoke.

"Aren't you curious why I summoned you after all this time?" he asked again.

"If it's your wish to have me here, then I will gladly comply," I responded calmly.

"Indeed." he agreed. "That has always been your purpose—to follow orders. I'm relieved that Mikhail hasn't clouded your judgment. But if he has? Then I would be even more disappointed in you than I already am." His words made the weight in my chest feel even heavier.
