Jhune's POV

It was already late when I got home. I should have been home much earlier if it weren’t for Rhese.

It’s exhausting being with him. I feel like I’ve run out of energy just following him around, as if I’ve become his babysitter.

I sighed before pushing the door open.

Flashback*

Exhausted, I sat on a bench along the road. Breathing heavily, I wiped the sweat from my forehead.

We had been going back and forth between rental apartments, but he didn’t like any of them.

He was looking for a nice apartment that matched his taste, but he kept complaining that none of the places we visited were good enough.

I suggested he get a condo unit, but he refused, saying he needed a place where he could blend in.

He’s so incredibly picky, tsk.

I took him to all the apartments I knew, but he didn’t like any of them. He complained that they were too cramped, had no good view, and lacked a bathtub.

And who would rent out a cheap apartment with a bathtub?!

Damn. My head is throbbing from dealing with him. If I had known, I wouldn’t have offered to help.

I snapped out of it when I saw him arguing with an ice cream vendor. I rubbed my face, wondering what on earth was happening.

I had briefly lost focus, but here he was, stirring up trouble again.

That idiot!

I quickly grabbed Rhese by the arm, and he turned to look at me.

"What the hell are you doing?!" I whispered to him, annoyed.

I forced a smile and turned to the vendor. "Excuse me, sir, what seems to be the problem?"

Rhese avoided eye contact and gave the vendor a scowl.

"This woman you’re with ordered the most expensive ice cream on the menu but refuses to pay because she says it doesn’t taste like it looks in the picture!" the vendor explained angrily. I shot a disapproving look at Rhese before turning back to the vendor.

"What?" Rhese said innocently. "Well, it’s true. In my country, when you buy something from the menu, you get exactly what’s in the picture!" he defended himself, then licked the ice cream again.

"It really doesn’t taste good!" he added, frowning as he stared at the ice cream.

"Then stop eating it, you dumbass!" I said irritably, but he ignored me.

"Sorry for the trouble," I said, handing the payment to the vendor. The vendor took the money angrily and went back to selling.

I pulled him away in frustration. "What the hell are you doing? You’re embarrassing me!"

"Why are you scolding me?!" he protested. "If you think it’s not that bad then, try and see for yourself!" He pouted, with tears welling up in his eyes..

Shit.

I mentally cursed as I noticed people staring at us.

"Woah, that guy is such a jerk!" I heard a woman whisper.

"Should we call the authorities?" The other girl respond.

"Such a waste. Her boyfriend is an asshole."
