The clock was ticking. I stared ahead of me at the time, silent. My fingers twitched, my hand itching to the pin pricked in my skin. The tube connecting to the drip swayed at the corner of my eye.

My friend sat in front of me. He stared at me.

I was in the hospital, sitting on a bed in a shirt and trousers with brown teddy bears printed all over them.

"Cole?" Lloyd put his hand on my foot hidden under the long white sheet, his loose black Fossil watch spinning upside down on his white wrist.

"Huh?" I looked at him.

"Are you okay?" He arched his brows, slipping to the edge of his chair. The Calvin Klein 'CK' on the rim of his jeans revealed themselves and the Louis Vuitton belt did too as his shirt uncovered it, not tucked in from his left waist.

"Oh." I looked at him as he batt his golden eyelashes over his green eyes. "Yeah. I'm fine." I raised my left hand, rubbing the back of my neck.

I began zoning out again, staring at the 'Coach' symbol design on his black and beige T-shirt.

Knock, knock, knock!

I flinched, turning my head towards the door immediately.

"Come in." Lloyd raised his voice, straightening his back as he looked at the door too, the silver cross around his neck swaying side to side.

"Hey." A familiar face peeked in. His spikey grey hair hovered over his eyebrows as he hung his head. "Cole!" His voice lightened in happiness, muffling at the same time behind his face mask.

"Ash." I mumbled, happy to see my friend's face.

"Sorry, I wasn't here when you woke up. I swear I was gonna stay but at three in the night my dad called. And..."

He raised his hand, taking the mask off. He carefully pulled the white straps of the mask away from his silver snake earring on his left ear.

"You know him."

"It's cool, man." I smiled, knowing the type of man his dad was.

It was silent for a while. I stared at Ash, examining his attire since I had nothing else to do; a black half sleeved tee with a dark blue sleeveless puffer jacket over black shorts and grey sneakers. A silver chain also complemented the dark colours very nicely as it hung around his neck. I looked at his bruised knees and that one bandage on his calf which had been there for quite a long time.

"Bro, thank God you're okay." Ash walked around the cot I laid on, grabbing a chair from behind Lloyd. "I don't get how anyone could survive that fall."

He put the chair on the ground next to Lloyd, sitting on it.

"And stay in one piece?" He twisted the collar of his black shirt, putting it in his mouth. It was a habit of his which he always did whenever his hands were free.

"I don't know." I raised my brows. "It feels like a movie." I put my left hand over my face, vexed.

"Haha, so right." Ash laughed, sinking back in his chair.

It had been a night since the incident. Today was a new day. I was surrounded with people who would give their life to save me but I still felt so lonely. Why was I still stuck on her? Why couldn't I get over her?
