"Wake up... Charlie, wake up," I continuously murmured to myself, my mind asleep.

I had never slept so uneasy before. It probably had been hours since then but it felt only like a few minutes had passed. It was wrong to nap while the girl who saved my life was on the verge of life and death. The worst part was that I couldn't even do anything about her bleeding.

My right knee swayed left and right, my knee bent up. My eyes were hurting. I was sure they were red in fact. My wrists were pulsing with pain, definitely not as bad as Charlie's, but it still hurt. I hadn't completely recovered from my previous wounds and now I had more. It was the same for Charlie too.

"Charlie..." I jerked back up, almost dozing off again.

Creek.

I flinched and sat up immediately. The lights turned on at the same time. My eyes were wide open, still stinging though. I shook my head, rubbing it against my left shoulder. I blinked a few times then looked to my left to see Seliel walk in.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk." Seliel bucked out her hip to her right and crossed her arms. "Why would you hurt yourself for a bitch you don't even know, Cole?" Her eyes drifted to my grazed wrists which were swollen and stained with dry blood.

"Weren't you a bitch too?" I grumbled, my drowsiness still intact.

She laughed, not saying another word. Instead, she pulled out a batch of keys from her pocket. She held them in front of her and began going through them, spinning them one by one through the key ring.

I stared at her silently, desperately wanting those keys to let me free. I just wanted to help Charlie. I really hoped those keys were for me.

She pulled out a key from the batch and came closer towards the bars. I stared at her, shifting my gaze up as she continued to walk closer to me. She crouched over, placing her left hand on her thigh and her right hand extending towards me. I looked at the object in her hand. It was a shiny silver key.

She smirked at me.

I looked at her, unsure about whether she had a trick up her sleeve or not. She nodded, extending her hand through the bars, right in front of my face.

I hesitated.

It was silent. I didn't have much of an option. I needed that key pretty badly. I opened my mouth and extended my neck closer towards the key in Seliel's hand. I bit the key with my teeth. She let go.

Seliel moved back and stood up. She snickered then walked out, shutting the door behind her.

I quickly turned to my right wrist, clenching my hand into a fist to hold the cuff in its place. I tilted my head and inserted the key into the cuff, pushing my tongue against it to turn it.

Click!

It opened.

I instantly beamed in happiness. I quickly grabbed the key from the cuff and turned to my other wrist. I placed the key in the keyhole, my hands shaking from weakness.

I let the metal chains drop, listening to them drub against the metal wall a few times as I quickly stood up and walked towards Charlie. I dropped on the ground, holding the key in between my thumb and finger. My knees rubbed against the cement floor, damaging my grey trousers from its knees. My hurting hands trembled as I tried to hold the key correctly. I quickly turned the tool in the locks, freeing both Charlie's wrists. She instantly fell on me, her head over my left shoulder. She was still unconscious.
