A man shoved me into a cell. I confusingly looked up at the grey wall, splotched in brown ahead of me before clashing with the ground. The stench of something really disgusting kept messing with my senses periodically.
"Ack-" I fell palms down, accidentally biting my tongue too.
My silver chain hanging around my neck slipped out from within my shirt. I quickly sat up straight and pushed the topaz crescent back in.
My head throbbed as I tried to adjust to the awfully dim lights in the corridor. I looked up at the silver roof, tracing the bars in front of me down to the concrete flooring. It was a cage. But, why was I being locked in it? The last I remembered was my comfy mattress on which I was asleep on. I opened my eyes, and then poof! I was in that place. Wherever 'that' was.
I turned around to look at who was treating me this brutally but just as I did, a body fell on me after being plunged in too. I flinched, looking at the familiar girl, her brown braid flailing behind her. It was Charlie.
"Sorry–" She scrambled off of me, dusting her hands which were harshly rubbed against the floor when she fell. She tossed her long braid behind her.
What was she doing there? I didn't even know what I was there for but there was no coincidence we were there together. Not again.
I shivered, hugging myself as I felt goosebumps arise over my whole body. I was in my sleeping attire and it was a bit chilly, not going to lie. Yes, we were in the middle of summer but that place was a bit cool. Charlie still had it better. She had full sleeves unlike me who was only wearing a black half-sleeved T-shirt and grey sweatpants. And being barefoot was worse. At least I wasn't alone in that... I looked at her bright peach toes. I surprisingly looked at the wound on her ankle too, remembering her injury from almost a half a month ago.
The creaking of a metal door caught my attention, making me turn my head towards the front at the person who violently shut the cell door in my face.
"Who are you?" I looked up at a feminine figure dressed in complete black clothing; black cargo pants with a black turtleneck tucked in. She had her face hidden under a black face mask and black sunglasses. She even wore a toque in the same colour over her head. Trying to see her face was impossible.
"You know very well, baby." Her familiar voice led my heart to stop for a second as she pulled her glasses off, her eyes still closed.
She pulled the black toque off her head, revealing the golden locks I subconsciously dreaded to see one last time. It was Seliel.
I stared at her in complete shock, watching her untangle her wavy hair which had caught into one another under the hat.
"You–" The girl snapped me out of my thoughts, pointing at Seliel, no less shocked than I was.
Seliel pulled her face mask down to her chin. She raised her hand, lazily pointing her fingers in the air as she dismissed the men in the room. They all walked out, except one.
I silenced with my lips parted, searching for words. I blinked in confusion, a bit scared of Seliel.
Was she part of some mafia or did she do all that on her own because of me? Where did she even bring me? Was I in her building or a random abandoned place? I couldn't believe she was going all out just to hate me. She must have had an entire gang to pull it off. A sniper, apartment and the guts to harm me? For someone poor, I was a rich person to mess with.
