Drip, drip, drip.

I coughed, coming back to my senses. The sound of water droplets clashing with the ground by my ear woke me up. My fingers twitched, resting in a pool of water. I could hear the sound of small rocks tumbling as my hearing fadingly came back. My every limb was quavering in pain as I opened my eyes. My head ached, thinking of what happened.

It was dark.

I blinked a few times to adjust to the dimmed light shining in through the broken asphalt above me. Distant sirens rang in my ears, trying to completely awaken me. I dazed at the dust floating around in the small rays of light coming in through the surface. The sirens got louder and louder. They were getting close. But, why was I here again?

I swallowed whatever was in my mouth; a mix of sand, water and blood. I closed my teeth, feeling the strong taste of blood enter my mouth. My lips quivered as I watched the replay of the last thirty minutes in my head.

Seliel.

She did this. I closed my eyes once again, feeling the tears slip off from the side of my eye and mix with the puddle of water beneath me.

I was in pain but at least I was alive. I wouldn't have been if it wasn't for the girl. My wet lashes pressed against my cheek as I squeezed my eyes shut once more before opening them again. The girl!

I jolted up suddenly, trying to get myself up from the ground. A painful scream forced out of my throat as a sharp pain struck through the right side of my body; starting from my shoulder to my knee. I clenched my left digits in the rocks and debris on the cement ground, trying to hold myself up in the position I sat. I blinked, wetting my eyelashes in my tears as I opened my eyes wide to look at my bleeding torso's side and thigh. My eyebrows convulsed. I raised my hand up, watching it shake as I slowly bent my fingers around the wound on my side. I moaned, shutting my eyes. I leaned my head back, feeling a wet substance trickle down my forehead.

Everything hurt. It all hurt so much. I pursed my lips, swaying my head back down. I opened my eyes, seeing my tangled black bangs hang in front of me, sticking to my forehead with the blood. I let out a painful sigh and looked up, finally realizing where I was.

Underground.

Not too far from the surface. I could see light from the streetlamp outside flicker periodically. We must've fallen into a ditch or something. According to the stench, it seemed like a sewer. I looked up at the arched bricks in the distance above me, making up the structure of the place. There was a concrete wall in front of me with graffiti spray-painted over it and a deep corridor on the left of it with sewage water flowing through it away from me. There was a long black pipe attached on the top left of the sewage's corridor, yellow lights just beneath it. There was even some tarp hanging down from the surface, touching the ground I sat on towards my right. I recalled the construction lift we were on before hitting the ground. There must have been some construction happening by the building.

I squinted, looking at my clothing, still trying to get used to enduring the pain. My white shirt definitely wasn't white anymore; a mix of grey, red and black was more of its colour. I looked down at my thigh, seeing a huge patch of my scraped skin revealing from beneath my ripped jeans. Although, it didn't look so fashionable because it was torn by rigged rocks and sharp pieces of metal. I gently bent my left leg which laid open in front of me, preparing myself to get up. I winced, feeling my side poke me with pain again. I was in a horrible condition, but regardless, I had to find her. I didn't want to lose her even though she was a stranger. Because, she did save my life afterall.
