"Okay, Morro."

The door opened wide.

The voice was familiar. Seliel's perhaps. I stayed silent, my lungs still suffocating, trying to fill themselves with oxygen. I had my eyes closed as I waited for Morro to back off.

"You said only a taste. Leave the rest for later," Seliel said.

I opened my eyes, narrowly. Morro moved his head back, finally backing away from me. I panted, taking in as much oxygen as possible for the time being.

Morro looked at Seliel, silent. She cocked a brow at him, tilting her head.

"But–"

"Morro." Seliel interrupted him from finishing.

"Fine." Morro looked down. "I'll be back, Charlie." He smacked his hand on the wall behind me, pushing against it to stand up.

I flinched, looking into his fierce hazel eyes. He sounded more brutal when he said my name like that, as if it was a swear word.

Seliel opened the cell for Morro to depart.

He held onto the bars to pull himself up. He was too drunk to hold himself straight.

"Here." Seliel sighed, lending Morro a hand.

She helped him walk until he reached the door. She called for a guard, handing Morro over to them.

"Take him to his room."

The guard nodded, helping Morro leave.

I continued panting, scrutinizing their exit.

Seliel sure seemed like she was a caring partner in crime; if that was their only relation.

"Fun, was it?" Seliel walked back towards us, simpering in delight.

"Seliel!" Cole yelled. "She needs a doctor ASAP!"

I looked at him with my brows lowered. My bangs covered a bit of my vision. His voice was confident. It sounded like he still believed his ex-girlfriend had a heart.

"She's bleeding," he said, extremely concerned.

"So?" Seliel spat ruthlessly after leaving a gap of silence for a few seconds.

"So? What do you mean 'so'? She'll die if she loses too much blood–"

Seliel interrupted Cole with a laugh.

I stared at her, feeling awfully unwell suddenly. The loss of blood finally hit me. I felt dizzy.

"Hun..." She walked towards Cole's side of the cell and sat with a western squat, her arms criss crossed over her knees. She smiled, showing her shining teeth. "That's how things work here. You're injured? You're injured. You're in pain? You remain in pain. You die? Oops. You're dead."

She looked at Cole straight faced, slowly melting back into a cold smile.

Ha ha ha!

Ha ha ha ha ha!

She laughed, standing back up and fixing her sheath dress over her thighs.

Cole looked at her, flinching his head back right when she moved away from him. He instantly looked at me, agitated. I could tell he was getting a bit used to Seliel's new personality. His face also showed remorse for not caring much about me earlier.
