13. "That eager to see me again."

EMILY'S POV-

I woke up this morning, smiling, reminding me from the previous evening with Connor.

My smile slowly slipped off my face when I realised what day it was. Monday, this meant school. School meant seeing Cameron and his followers. And to make it worse, I remembered that Connor was part of his group of friends.

Great. So much for thinking I was going to have a good day.

I get ready and head downstairs, to find Harry sitting in the kitchen drinking what looked like a mug of coffee and reading the local newspaper.

"Morning," I grumble as I pick up an apple and slouch into the seat next to him.

"Morning," he replies with just about the same enthusiasm as me.

As you can tell, we are definitely not morning people; which is funny because both our parents loved getting up early. They used to say it gives you more time to do things, live your life.

I sit for about 5 minutes, staring down at the table in front of me, nearly falling asleep.

Then my phone beeps. I unlock the screen by typing in my password.

To: Emily From: Con (Starbucks Boy)

"Morning! X"

That one text made my heart flutter. I grinned widely before replying.

To: Con (Starbucks Boy)

"Morning :)"

Just as I start typing Harry coughs, looking at me, one eyebrow raised.

"And who are you texting missy?"

I realised I couldn't say friend, because I had no other friends.

Instead I just smirk, "Connor."

He wolf whistles, "Ooohhh, he totally has the hots for you Em; morning texts and all."

I stare at him with an "are you serious" expression.

"So, am I ever gonna get to meet him? Come on, we better go," he says whilst picking up his stuff.

Thankful, I leave the house and get into Haz's car which was parked outside the house.

"So are you gonna answer my question now?" Harry asks putting his key into the ignition. Shit, I thought he'd forgotten.

"Nope."

So I'm speaking out loud too now. You know what they say about speaking out loud, first signs of madness.

"Yes," he replies laughing, "So?"

"Ugh, fine. I'll invite him round after school. And we'll walk home," I respond giving in and putting the radio on.

"Aw, you don't want your older brother getting in the way of your lovey conversations," Harry jokes.

I give him "the face" again.

"He's just a friend Harry."

"That's what they all say," he says.

I take my phone out and text Connor; realising I hadn't sent my morning message earlier;

"Morning :) also, do you wanna come round today after school?"

I send it and about a minute later I hear a familiar ping. I retrieve my phone from the bottom of my bag.

"Sure, I'll meet you at the gates after school :) x"
