29. Late Nights at the Beach
It had been a couple of days since my appointment; and I knew I was getting more ill and that worried me slightly.
I guess Doctor James was right when he said to do the things I wanted to do, because before I knew it all my time would be gone and I would totally regret not doing the things I wanted.
Today, Harry and I had arranged to go and see Nurse Becky and Skylar. Becky had invited us round for lunch, saying that Skylar missed us and wanted to see us again. And because we promised her the first time we saw her, we agreed. Besides I did want to see her again, I missed her.
"Ready," I say to Harry who was already downstairs. I was dressed in some black jeans and a white crop top with a small pocket on the right, as for shoes I was wearing a pair of Nike trainers.
"Yep," Harry says getting up from his space on the sofa, "Let's go."
We get in the car and drive to Becky's house which was about 20 minutes away. I turn the radio on, leaving it on the main channel of the area- some catchy pop song that I'd heard plenty of times before, yet still didn't know the name of, was currently playing.
"I can't wait to see Skylar," I say, excited.
"I know, it feels like we haven't seen them both in so long," Harry says, "Remember when we were busking and she came up to us."
"Aw, yeah," I recall.
"Hey, we should go busking again," Harry says looking at me, waiting at a red light.
"Yeah, we should. I love busking."
"Me too."
We pass a toy shop on the way to Becky's.
"Should we get Skylar something from that shop," Harry suggests signalling to the shop.
"Yeah, why not," I respond, remembering that I forgot to get them anything.
I always find it's nice to take something to someone's house when they invite you round; especially if it's not an everyday thing.
We come out of the toy shop, Harry carrying a huge box. He puts it in the back of his car, laying it flat, so that it doesn't get in the way.
Becky lives in a nice, quiet area; on her road there are a few other houses. Her house is average sized, with on road parking.
I walk up to her door, ringing the doorbell once, as Harry stands next to me his arms full.
"EMMY, HARRY," the gorgeous little girl squeals as her mother opens the door.
She grab my legs hugging them, I crouch to her height pulling her into a hug, as I kiss her mop of blonde curly hair.
"Hello Sky, how are you," I ask her.
"I'm so excited, I've been waiting all day," she tells truthfully.
"Hi Skylar," Harry says hugging her as the box he was holding a few seconds ago now rests on the side wall of the house, next to the open door.
"Hi Harry," she smiles, as he lifts her slightly off the ground before putting her back down.
We both hug Becky too, and I hand her the bunch of flowers that Harry picked up this morning.
"They're beautiful, thank you," she says, letting us in to her house, "Sky, show Harry and Emily inside, I'm just going to put these in a vase," she tells her daughter.
"Okay Mummy," Skylar says.
She looks adorable dressed in a navy blue skater style dress, with small white birds on the skirt bit. She also has white frilly socks and tiny white Converse. Her blonde curly hair is down, a little bit is braided and pinned back.
