27. Truth
It was a few days ago when I had my first date with Connor and honestly it was one of the best nights of my life. After we sat and stared at the stars, Connor asked me about my parents and we sat on the beach and spoke about my parents, and it was as if he got to know them as well. We then kissed some more before he took me home. I loved every second of that night and it went better than I had ever imagined. I went home with a huge smile on my face telling Harry what had happened, I then went to my room to see Lauren calling me asking how it went and claiming that Connor wouldn't tell her. After that I got changed into comfortable clothes and got into bed, not being able to fall asleep until the early hours of the morning. The night replaying in my head constantly. And for once, I fell asleep extremely happy, not even giving a second thought to the cancer.
Maybe I'm falling for him harder than I think?
Today I was going to meet with Cameron; we decided we would go out for a casual lunch at some fast food place in town maybe. I feel like Cameron is genuinely trying to make an effort to be friends with me again. He's text me a few times and rang me yesterday asking if I was okay and if we were still on for today.
I get dressed into some blue denim shorts and a white sheer blouse, tucking the blouse into the front of the shorts. I also throw an oversized maroon chunky knitted cardigan, just in case it got cold. I put on my white Converse (yet again). In case you didn't realise Converse were my favourite shoes, they were so comfortable, and went with pretty much every single outfit. Then I put on some light make-up.
I pick up my bag, before going downstairs.

"Hi Em," Cameron says greeting me with a smile and a short hug.
"Hi, how are you?" I reply politely, as we start walking.
We had decided to meet in town, as it would be convenient for both of us. Cameron lived on the other side of the town, so it made more sense to just meet here instead of him coming to mine or me going to his and coming to town together.
"Great thanks, starving though."
"Me too; I suggest we get food first," I say nodding.
"Fine by me," he says as we make our way into the town centre.
"So how was your date last night," Cam asks me raising his eyebrows suggestively, as we go and stand outside this chicken fast food place.
I roll my eyes, "It was really great actually. Really really great."
"Really," Cam sarcastically jokes.
I laugh at his sarcastic remark.
"I'm glad you had a good time."
We get to the front of the queue fairly quickly; I order a chicken wrap and Cameron a chicken burger. We wait as they make our food, and place our orders on a tray. I take my purse out to pay for my food, but Cameron pays for the both of us.
"Cam, I can pay for my food," I say handing him the money.
He doesn't take it.
"Its fine," he dismisses, picking up our tray of food.
"Well, thank you."
When we used to be friends, Cameron would never let me pay for anything. He used to say it was good manners to pay.

"So you said you'd moved on? Who's the unlucky girl?" I ask.
"Correction, lucky. And her name is Alice," he tells me.
