16. Connor's House
This week, I do practically nothing. I make it to Friday, which seems to be the goal of every week recently. I go to school, come home, eat, do homework, eat, chill out, eat, sleep and then repeat the next day until the week is over.
Then over the weekend, I also do pretty much nothing. On Saturday I get up at a reasonable time, 11:00am. Okay, okay; not that early, but early for me. Then spend the day watching TV, YouTube and scrolling through Tumblr. And I know I said I needed to become more active and do more with my life; but the only people I talk to are Connor and Harry. And this weekend, Connor was spending with his family and Harry went out with his friends on Saturday. So there wasn't all that much that I could actually do; besides I didn't particularly want to go out. Anyway, I like Wi-Fi, food and my bed, so all was good.
Connor and I have been texting all weekend; him complaining about being in the middle of some woods, camping with his family and me telling him about how I was home alone with my bed, food and Wi-Fi, making him jealous.
However, on Sunday, I actually do something productive with my time. I still get up at midday, but once I'm up, I take a long relaxing bath, something I like to do on Sunday's. After, I change into something comfy, black leggings and an oversized hoody. Then later in the day, Harry and I decide to do some baking; not particularly sure why but we do anyway. We follow an online recipe to make Oreo cupcakes, then after we put them in the oven we got a bit carried away, and decided to make a batch of triple chocolate cookies. We both knew we had make way too much for the two of us, but because it was so fun we didn't really care. Once we had taken both batches out of the oven, we waited for them to cool a tiny bit; before resisting the temptation and digging in. And if I do say so myself, they were the nicest things we had ever made; ever. Honestly, they were divine.
But we definitely did have too many, even for the two of us to share. I think our Mary Berry got the better of us whilst baking. So instead of wasting the amazing products; I put some to the side for Connor and his family as I was going round there after school tomorrow.
"Em, your phone's ringing," Harry shouts to me from his room later that evening.
I run upstairs to answer my phone, considering it was on my charger in my room and I was downstairs watching some TV before Harry and I were about to order pizza for dinner.
Sunday evening is usually always tradition for us to buy takeout.
I dive on to my bed to grab my phone from my bedside table on the other side of my bed. Without even looking I answer; knowing that it'd only be one person anyway.
"Hi Em," he says as soon as I answer, smiling, I reply.
"Hi Connor, how was your trip?" I ask.
"You don't want to know, honestly. It was hands down the worst trip I have ever been on. Literally, it was in the middle of nowhere. Lauren was complaining the whole time and Aimee was being hyper, playing with my hair constantly and wanted to paint my nails. I think by the end of the weekend, Mum and Dad had also had enough. They thought it was going to be this relaxing break from everything, yet it was just chaos. I am almost certain we went to the wrong place. And, there was no toilet or clean water anywhere. Just, never again."
I smile and no one in particular as Connor continues to tell me his story, I listen carefully.
"It sounds terrible. Meanwhile, I was in a comfy king sized bed, watching TV, eating pizza."
"Alright, alright. I get it. You missed me though?"
"Hm, let me think about that. No."
"C'mon Em, you and I both know you missed me and were thinking about me every day."
