A bell rings.
"Irene!"
"Yes, old Judy."
"Customer at table no.5 need his beef raw!"
"Alright, coming right up!"
Irene was busy cooking in the kitchen while old Judy take the order for the customers.
As Irene done cooking, she rings a bell.
"Lydia, serve this to the customer table 5!"
"Yes, old Judy!"
A server name Lydia then bring the food to the customer table.
"Here you go, sir."
"Thank you."
A bell rings again.
"Irene, a to go orders for customers 1.0! Chicken crisps!"
"Alrighty!"
It been a month Irene left the Wickson household. And her life couldn't get any better here.
Since the day, Irene start working in the tavern, she improves the food and system at the tavern. By giving a number to each tables, and different number for a takeaways order.
Because of a large amount of customers that keep coming into the tavern, the money keeps skyrocketing. Irene even find a place that could make a container for the food. With her design, many want to buys the containers. However, Irene didn't want to be exposed so she let the one who make the containers take the credit for the creation, as Irene will have half of payment for the success of making the sales.
Old Judy temperance towards Irene also become soft after getting to know her. She even make friends with Lydia.
Even at night the tavern always busy.
"Old Judy, where's Irene?" An anxious woman looking for Irene.
"What wrong, Marcy?" Irene asks.
"My father, he's sick!"

At the Marcy house, Irene is treating Marcy's father leg.
"Why didn't you tell me, your father was injured? His wound is too deep."
"I was going to tell you, but father keep saying that we shouldn't trouble you...every time you help us, you never charges us. We too indebted to you."
"Your father has always help me find every rare herb and plant in the wood. For sure, I will help your father. I'm indebted with him too."
Marcy then cries seeing his father state. He looks pale from a lost of blood.
"Your father conditions is getting worse, because there's already infection in your father wound. You need to bring him to a physician. He need surgery."
"But we have no money for that....I can't just let my father die....Irene, please help us."
"In this case, I can't help you." Irene said bitterly.
"No...no...no, you must Irene. You're my only hope."
"I'm sorry...."
"No..." Marcy sobs, knowing her father fate.
"Irene....." A soft voice call Irene name, it was Marcus, Marcy's father.
"Marcus..."
"Father, you're awake."
Marcus tries hard to open his eyes to look at Irene.
"It's alright...Irene, you don't need to feel guilty for me. This is my fate. You have done more enough for me, when you save my daughter life."
"When my daughter is sick, no one offer to help us because of our poverty. Only you come to help us. You told me that my daughter was malnourishment. You...gave us food and nurse her till she's better. With that, I'm thankful."
"No...Marcus..."
"Let it be. This is my end. Let this seal my fate."
"No... father. I can't lose you too. No..." Marcy hug her father in tears.
Seeing them embrace, Irene couldn't bear it. She determined. That she must save him.
Outside the house, Irene give instructions to Marcy.
"Change your father wound dressing. And check his temperature daily. And make sure your father's leg still red. I will go up to the forest to find some plant for your father surgery. I might gone long, so take care of your father while I'm gone."
"Alright, you be careful."
Irene nod her head as she then goes towards the forest.
She remembers in her studies about opium poppy plant which is a drug to use for medical surgery.
She needed to find that specific plant. Hopefully in this novel world, that plant exist.
For a day, Irene in the forest. She still couldn't find the plant. Irene then goes up to a tall tree to take a rest there as the sun is about to set. She will continue to search for the plant tomorrow.
With the equipment she brought, Irene tied herself on the tree, so she won't fall down while sleeping.
