"If I may, I would like to check her myself. Believe me I don't have any bad intention. I just want to help." Irene tries to persuade Countess Walma.

Reluctant, Countess Walma look at the Queen.

"You may feel at ease. My niece have some knowledge about medicines." The Queen also tries to convince her. Hearing what she said, all of them turn to look at Irene, disbelief. But no one dare to said anything.

"If you're not convince, you can see it for yourself, while I examine her." Irene said.

"Alright then." Countess Walma reluctantly had to agree.

Both of them get behind the curtains. Irene turn to look at Countess asking for her consent. After getting her consent, Irene proceed to check the girl body. She had to look any sign or injury that might causes the girl to feel sick.

Irene carefully look her hand, neck and body. She saw several small red bumps on her body. Like fleabite. Then she's surprised to see and feel a swollen lymph nodes forming on the girl thigh.

"When did she get this spot?" Irene asked, feeling trouble.

"Why you asked?" Countess Walma questions back.

"I need to know, so I could diagnose whether or not your daughter is in a critical condition." Irene stated.

Hearing that, Countess Walma turned paled. She then summarise the details of their journey.

"It was...after we travel back from my husband hometown. It's a long way, so we often stop by any town nearby to rest. If I remembered correctly, it is Roaddown Valley. It just a small underdeveloped town. My daughter often playing outside with other children there. She always came back dirty even though I told her not to. But she looks like she's having fun, that I don't have the heart to scold her. When I checked on her while she taking a bathe, I saw a faint red spot on my daughter's body. I already gone to seek a physician over there. He said it just probably a bite from...an insect while she's playing outside. Saying it's normal. He told me it wasn't a serious matter and gave me a oilment to put on her. After we when back home, my daughter's condition gotten worse. She keeps on complaining how her head hurt and stomach ache. We thought it's just a normal fever. But her high temperature wouldn't cool down. And she's keep on vomiting."

"Is it...is it because of that? Was she infected or something?" It could be heard the anxiousness in Countess Walma voice.

"I'm afraid...this spot on your daughter's body is not just from an insect bite. From what I known of this disease is called a pneumonic plague."

"A....what disease?" Countess Walma look confused.

"Pneumonic plague. A severe lung infection caused by Yer....I mean a bacteria. Your daughter probably got it when she was playing outside. Either through inhalation of the air or skin contact from an contaminated animal tissue. The red spot on your daughter's body, it is causes by flea bites. The bacteria most commonly transmits through bites from fleas. If a rodent dies from the disease, fleas that were feeding on them start to feed on other animals, such as dogs and cats. These animals may then carry bacteria-containing fleas into closer proximity to people." Irene tries to simplify.

"A lung infection...cause by bacteria...from an contaminated animal? Is it a life threatening?" Countess Walma look at her, feeling perplexed and concerned.

"If not treated immediately, it will be." Irene stated the fact.

Hearing that, Countess Walma then burst out from the behind the curtains, walking towards all the physician. Irene could only follows suit.

"You've told me that this is not a critical condition!" Countess Walma confronted them, angrily.

Everyone was shocked including Irene. She didn't expect that the Countess will suddenly chastised all of the physician.

"But it is, Countess." The head of physician said, trying to defend himself.

"Really?! From all the medicine and procedures that you all have done, none of you can tell what's wrong with my daughter! But she, the crown princess who is not a physician, just by doing a physical examination already know the cause of my daughter illness."

All of the physician then turn to look at Irene, begrudgingly.

"Countess, just like you've said. Her highness is not a physician. You've should of not taken her words seriously. Matter like this should be handle by us, who's more profound and experience in this matter." The head of physician stated.

"But I'm not lying. That young girl life is at stake. She is infected by the bacteria. Which causes her to feel sick. We need to treat her, before the bacteria spread to her lungs." Irene tries to convince them.

Michael who heard that, raises his brow. But other didn't seem to care.

"Your highness, the disease you've mentioned is never heard of. We never encounter such cases as you said nor read about it. It is impossible that none of us, known of this. Are you sure you're not making this up?"

"Beside this is a serious matter, your highness. We are currently facing a unknown disease. Something that never occurred in history. So I suggest your highness don't tread such matter so lightly."

Irene get annoyed, seeing that all of the physician were either ridiculing her or not taking her seriously. But she can't explain nor defend herself, for she is no genius. All of the knowledge of medical is from her reading and researched of past diseases and all the treatment that was conducted before. But here in this world, it seem she had to gone through a hard start and to be the first person to uncovered this disease.

"If all of you do not believe me, I can volunteer myself to do a research and give prove of this disease." Irene is determined to convince all of them, since this related to other people life.

Again, all of them was surprised.

"Dacia, I don't think that is a wise idea." The Queen said, realising the seriousness of the situation.

"Your majesty, it seems that her highness isn't aware of the law here. May I remind you that women have no say in this matter?" The head of physician turn to look at the Queen, with a stern look. Irene notice that look, take a steps forward in front of the queen.

"No need to bother the Queen about this. I myself know how the law work here. And right now, we're in a middle of a crisis. You just told me, that we're facing a unknown disease. That's mean we still didn't know the risk of it. Anything related to the safety of the kingdom, is also my responsibility. That's mean as the crown princess I'm obligated to be involved in this matter as much as you all do."

With a grim face, all the older physician couldn't say anything nor refute. While the two young apprentices watching from the sidelines remained quiet.

Michael who has been silent from the beginning, spoke out.

"Indeed your highness, we're in a middle of crisis right now. So we need all the helping hand we can get. We can't waste anymore time. But, before anything else...I suggest your highness ask for permission to the crown prince first. Since this cases are under his charge."

Upon hearing that, Irene was stunned. All she did, is nod her head.
