When Beauty Destroys The BL World

Gratitude

Irene stops by at one of the market, as she inspect all the vegetable, with Arlo beside her.
When suddenly they hear a commotions. All of the people at market look at the scene.
Irene and Arlo rushes to the scene. A group of bandits making trouble at one of the market.
"Do you seen this woman?" They asks her questions.
"No, I never seen this woman." The old woman said, fearing for her life. The bandits then make a mess of her shop.
"Stop! Please stop!" The old lady pleads.
All the people there fear for their life, for none want to help the old lady.
Seeing such scene, Irene wants to steps forward. But, Arlo grab her arm, to stops her. He recognises the group of bandits. For he was the one hired them to find the Crown Prince missing fiancée.
"What are you doing? Let go of me."
"Don't!"
"Why? We can't just stand by and not help her!"
"It's better not to get involved. You will get hurt!"
"But I have you, you'll protect me, right?"
Arlo was shocked hearing her statement. It sounds like she had such faith in him. Looking at his overwhelming state, Irene took the opportunity to escape from his grasp.
"Stop! Stop it!" Irene push the bandit away from destroying the shop.
"Well,well,well...who do we have here? " The leader of the bandits leering at Irene, as she help the old lady up.
"With a body like that, why do you need to cover that face of yours? Are you really that hideous?" Just as the leader of the bandit reaches his hand towards her, Arlo snapped his hand.
Prakk!!
"Ah!!!" The man screams in pain as his hand breaks.
Arlo then kicked the man until he was thrown far away.

All the rest of the bandits launch an attack towards Arlo.
Irene quickly pull the old lady away from the fight.
While Arlo could easily defeat all the bandits for they are not skilled fighter.
"Retreat! Retreat all of you!" Seeing that they couldn't defeat him, all of them draw back.
The people in the marketplace then cheer for Arlo.
"Yeah....our hero. Our saviour!"
"Thank you young man!"
He was stunned seeing the responses of the crowd. All of the people there expresses their gratitude.
Seeing such scene, Irene couldn't help but be amazed and proud as she also cheers for him. The second male lead really lives up to his name.

As a result, they walk back with full hands.
The people at marketplace has given them free food and stuff to show their gratefulness.
Irene chuckled seeing Arlo state.
Arlo turn to look at her. Hearing her laugh, he couldn't help but smile.
"Thank you for what you've done. If you didn't help out, I can't imagine what will happened to us." Irene thanked him.
"I'm thankful too." Arlo stated.
"For what?" Irene asks.
"For showing me what kind of person I am." Arlo expresses his gratitude.
He was an orphan. His parents was killed during wars. He witnessed firsthand the brutality of his parent's death. Scared and alone, he almost died from starvation. But then his master found him. From a young age, he was trained to be a cold-hearted person and loyal to his master. His master told him to wear a mask since then, as it symbolises his true self and identity. A fearless assassin. That eliminate him away from any human emotions. He never gets the chance to follow his heart. Whenever he kills, he was cold blooded. He never shows any mercy nor compassionate. He's been living like a shadow for his entire life.
When his master present him to the Crown Prince, he then had become a killer machine. A soulless person. He's like a puppet that only follows order as if it his life purpose.
But everything changed, when he was saved by her. That day, when he first saw her. All he remember was a beautiful pair of eyes, looking over him with so much concern. No one has ever look at him that way. For anyone who saw him, it's either scared or fear for their life.
On the day his face was revealed, he experienced all the emotions he shouldn't have had. And all of that was related to her.
He couldn't express his feelings first. But when he saw how determined she is of saving her friend that against the law, and how she stand by to her belief without any fears against the holy priest. He couldn't help but admire her. It something that he could never do in his life.
Seeing how skilled and talented she is, it makes him more drawn to her.
That's why he wants to get close to her, even if it just temporary.
Never in his life, he had such feelings for.
When the leader of the bandits looks at her with such lecherousness, he wants nothing more but to gouge his eyes off. Just when that person tries to reach her veil off her face, that monster in him kicks in. He wants to be the only one to see her face. No one but him.
Then the crowd cheered for him. They all approaches him and expressed their gratitude to him. Something he never felt and experienced. For the first time in life, he feels so fulfilled for doing the right thing.
