New Day

Morning has arrived. Irene awake from her slumber.
She turn to see that the bed is empty. No sign of the male lead in the room. Irene then heard a knock.
"Your highness, are you awake?" Libby ask from outside the door room.
"Ye....yes, just a second!" Irene who heard them, quickly carry the pillow and blanket to the bed. She make it seems that she had sleep on it.
"You may come in now."
All the maids then open the room and walks in.
"Your highness, the King and Queen are waiting for you at garden." Libby informed her.
"Oh...I should get ready then. Where...where his highness....my...my husband?" Irene couldn't help but asks.
"The crown prince had already gone to the garden earlier. He told us not to disturb you and wait for you to be awake to serve you." Libby excitedly told her.
Hearing that, Irene just nod her head.
She then get up from the bed. All the maids go through the bed, as to replace all the sheet.
All of the maids saw the red spot on the bed. Irene notice it, but pretending to be oblivious.

When she's done bathing, the maids help styling her hair. Irene then notice the hickey on her neck that turn red dark which is too obvious when the maids try to do hair bun.
The maids eyes widen when they saw it.
"Today I would like to style my hair down." Irene awkwardly said. The flustered and blushing maids only nods their head as they do her hair. After they finished, Libby who watching beside, keeps on smiling.
"Libby, what are you so happy about?" Irene couldn't help but asks.
Libby look around to see none of the maids are looking at them. She lean down towards Irene.
"I'm happy for you, your highness. The crown prince had been nothing but considerate and attentive to you. All the people in the palace now, will show more respect towards you and won't dare to treat you lightly." Libby whispers.
Hearing her reasons, Irene just faintly smile.

After that, Irene goes to garden.

She bow down her head towards the king and queen. Seeing her arrival, the queen smile.
"Here, have a sit, my dear."
Irene took a sit beside Nickolai. The queen notice the mark on Irene neck, even though her hair is down. She then smiled contently, thinking that both of them had complete the marital night.
"Seeing the two of you together, really bring joy in my heart. It like it was yesterday that we decided to paired the two of you as husband and wife." The king said with the queen agreeing with him.
Irene just smile hearing that. While Nickolai silently drink from his cup.
"Oh, I remembered that I once eat strawberry cake made by chef Riddel. Have him serve us the cake again. Let the two newlyweds have a taste of it." The king told the queen.
"My king, chef Riddel has long passed. You never eaten strawberry cake for a years now." The queen reminded him.
"He...he passed? Oh....I seem to be forgotten about that." The king seemingly trying to process his mind.

Irene aware that the king is getting senile, that his memory becoming worsen. Just like the novel has written.
Not wanting to be nosy, she silently eat the food that was served at the table. Nickolai then stand up.
"I have other attend to do. So I will take my leave now." He said.
He gives a slight bow to his father then to the queen before leaving.
The queen turn to Irene who is eating.
"I'm glad, that you two seem to be getting along."
"I am too, your majesty."
The queen raises her brow hearing Irene addresses her that way. But only for a moment as she then turn to the king, caters to his needs.

After done having breakfast with the king and queen, Irene can finally feel relief. She thought to herself that she can finally go back to have her own personal time. Just when she's about to leave the garden, she stops as she caught a glimpse of someone.
It was Lucas, with a young priest beside him.
They seem to be waiting for someone.
Irene was stunned to see him there.
He looks so thin and pale.
Seeing him after so long, had bring such pang in her heart.
Libby who's beside her, wonder what make her stop walking. When she saw it was the holy priest, she was shocked.
"It's the holy priest!" Libby make a slip of tongue. Irene was surprised because of her.
She then turn to see that Lucas and the young priest are looking at them.
Shocked, Irene quickly want to leave but stop, when she heard Lucas voice.
"I bid you respect, your highness." Both Lucas and the young priest walks towards her and gave her a bow. Irene had to receive their greetings.
"Congratulations on your wedding day, your highness. Forgive me, for only now I could give you my congrats." Lucas said.
"It's alright. I understand. Thank you, your holiness." Irene still not wanting to meet his eyes, look down as she answered.
All of them stood there for awhile in silence. Libby and others look anxious as they worried that Irene will cause problems seeing the holy priest again. While Irene and Lucas was busy thinking about their own thought, not noticing the situation.
The young priest beside Lucas, couldn't help but interfere.
"Well then, we will gone to our affair now, your highness." He said.
"Alright, I don't want to delay both of you. I'll excuse myself." Irene hurriedly left the garden. Libby and all the maids who had accompanied her, also follow suit.
Seeing her leaving, the young priest looks surprised.
"The crown princess seem to be different than usual. She doesn't cause you any problems anymore nor she say anything foul to you." The young priest stated.
But Lucas doesn't seem to listen to him. As he seems to be drifted in his own thoughts.

Irene walk back into her room, trying to calm herself. Her emotions almost outburst. All the memory that pained her, came back resurface. Irene hit her chest to stop the feelings of agony in her heart. She needs to remain calm. Irene tries to divert her thoughts, from the painful memory as she reason herself that as long as she stays away from the lead characters and just go with the flow of the story and not trying to change the plot, no one will get hurt anymore.
After collected herself, she focus back to arranged her stuff.
Libby and all the maids bring all her belongings to the courtyard that was prepared for her. Irene instructed them to arrange her stuff according to her taste. She also helped them.
By noon, everything has been done. All of them are tired.
"Your highness, can we all retire now?" Libby ask.
Irene saw all of their condition, thought of something.
"You all must be hungry. Wait for me to cook." Irene said.
"Wha...wha? Your highness, did you said you want to cook??" Libby couldn't believe what she just heard.

In the kitchen of her own, Irene cook with a chef assist her. Libby and the others watches aside. Seeing Irene cooking without any trouble, Libby was shocked. She never saw her once young lady do hard work nor cooking. It seems like her young lady has really changed.

Once the food is done, Irene served it to everyone in her courtyard.
"Let's all eat." Irene invited them to eat.
Everyone thanked her then took a taste of the food.
All of them are amazed how delicious the foods. Seeing them happily eating, Irene smile earnestly.
"Your highness, your cooking is the best!" Libby complimented her cooking. Irene smiles as she pushes more dishes on her plate.
"Eat more."
"Thank you, your highness." Libby smile as she eat.

Irene is having a good moment eating in with the people working under her. Unbeknownst to her, a dark guard is watching them from afar. Spying through her every moves.
