As soon as the word "go" was uttered, Kel bounded between the two buildings, finally landing on the roof above.
Cris watched for a minute but cleared her mind and proceeded inside. Immediately, she met Kim. "Alright, Cris, if you know what's good for you, you'll turn around and walk away."
Taking a deep breath, Cris gathered water around Kim's head. "Just hold your breath for a bit..." Cris requested as she used the water to lift up Kim by the head and move her towards the back wall of the room.
She began to walk towards the stairs slowly, when suddenly, Kim burst the bubble of water by growing her head. "Didn't expect that, did ya?" she said with a smirk. After a moment, Kim grew her arm, letting her strangely normal sized hand punch Cris in the face.
Meanwhile, Kel had finished running downstairs to the third floor. The building, being about five stories, wasn't that hard to scale or to descend. Of course, Kel was about to run into trouble.
There was a heat emanating from within the third floor. It felt pretty bad, but it wasn't so hot he couldn't enter the floor. Kel began to make his way inside. "Ohoho! If it isn't... er... you haven't come up with a hero name yet, have you?" Mikhael awkwardly pointed out.
"Jeez, it's way too hot in here... Mikhael, is this what your quirk does? Why do you wear that much if your quirk makes it hot!?" Kel asked a surprisingly not overheated Mikhael.
"Pfft, Kel, it's never too hot for me! The Maverick is the definition of hot!" Mikhael explained.
Kel was sweating too much to argue, "God, it's so hot... look, Mikhael, if I gotta knock you out to make this heat stop, I will. Just cut the heat, and we can have a fair fight," Kel bargained.
Mikhael shook his head, "No way, I suggest you get out of here before you get heat stroke, Kel. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the... office building," he countered, awkwardly delivering the last line.
"He's so witty..." swooned Bebe in the observation room.
Captain Canuck put his hand to his chin, "It's interesting. Sweating and heat burn calories quickly, so if Cris doesn't get out of her jam with Kim, villains are gonna win this round!" he remarked with some thought.
"Yeah, keep it up, Maverick!" Bebe cheered.
Angel shook his head with a snarky look, "Foolish. It's The Maverick," he corrected his female counterpart.
Sunny rolled his eyes and turned his attention back to the screens. Kim was panicking with a giant hand, as Cris was knocked out on the floor.
"A-Are you okay!? Did I hit you too hard!? Oh god..." she worriedly asked.
Captain Canuck clicked the intercom again, "It's alright, Kim, just make sure she's still breathing!" His advice was promptly followed, as Kim checked over Cris.
"I think she's okay!" Kim announced with a sigh of relief.
Sunny turned his attention to Kel's feed now, where Kel was on the floor, grabbing Mikhael's leg.
"G-Get off! I'm not gonna stop. Just get out of here while you still can, you weirdo!" He pled, kicking his foot around. Kel remained firmly wrapped around his opponent's leg.
Kel's eyes slowly began to close as he started to pass out. "Mikhael, your team has won. Please stop the heat promptly! Kel might die if you keep this up!" Captain Canuck shouted.
"A-Alright, I'm cooling off!" Mikhael quickly began to cool the temperature of the surrounding air. Kel's body slowly began to cool off, as he was passed out on the floor.
"Take him out of the building, Mikhael. The medical team is already downstairs to help with Cris." Captain Canuck said with some urgency.
Angel and Bebe were in awe of The Maverick, while the others were more worried about Kel. "I should've stopped this earlier... god damn it... alright, uh... I'll go out with the next group and retrieve the briefcase..."
He tapped his phone screen twice again. "It's gonna be... Rai... and... Peter as heroes," Captain Canuck tapped twice again, as near everyone was glaring at Rai jealously, "and the villains will be... Mincy and... Sunny."
Mincy immediately lurched backwards and belted out a dramatic evil laugh. "FWAHAHAHA! Prepare yourselves, heroes, for you will be destroyed by... Professor DOOM!!" Mincy declared, "Come, lackey, let us retrieve our evil plans!"
She seemed a bit too excited to be chosen as a villain. "Uh... sure," Sunny replied to the "evil mastermind."
Rai and Peter followed as Mincy walked ahead with Sunny. Captain Canuck followed behind them, having them quickly arriving at the building. "Mr. Canuck, can I use support items?" Mincy requested hopefully.
"Uh... knowing your quirk, sure, but... where did you get a support item? We haven't made any orders yet..." Captain Canuck asked with an eyebrow probably raised.
Mincy snickered, "Let's just say, I got my sources," she implied something that Sunny couldn't really discern. Regardless, he let it go.
"You two wait out here, Mincy and Sunny, you come with me," Captain Canuck said, heading inside the building.
The two headed up the stairs rather quietly until they reached the third floor. Captain Canuck stood in front of a partially melted elevator door. "Jeez, that heat really did a number on the doors." It was still a little warm in the air on that floor, too. Mikhael's quirk was extremely effective.
Captain Canuck slid his foot up the small gap between the doors, freezing it. He then kicked the doors, making the ice shatter, and the doors spread apart wide enough for one's fingers to get between.
Captain Canuck then pulled apart the heavy elevator doors. He pushed them into their slots in the walls and used his quirk to freeze a path for himself to grab the briefcase from the other side of the elevator.
"How are you gonna close it again, sir?" Mincy asked curiously.
Captain Canuck placed the briefcase on the table in the center of the main room. He looked back at the elevator. "Uh... don't fall in," Captain Canuck answered with a thumbs up. Mincy and Sunny shared a disappointed expression. "Well, gotta go! See you two after the test!"
The two sighed and began to plan out their defense.
