Sunny watched as Jay, Angel, and Aubrey all headed inside. They were none the wiser as Basil sprang into action, running out in front of the doors and morphing the nearby trees to block the doors, and supported the now thin base with the grass surrounding it.
Basil sighed with relief as nobody noticed until it was too late to stop him. "Good luck escaping with the briefcase if you can't escape at all!" Basil shouted through the glass.
Proud of Basil, Sunny smiled at the monitor that was watching the front of the building. He redirected his attention to what was happening inside.
The heroes had turned around for a moment to look back at the door being blocked. "It's fine. So long as the roof is open, we still have a way out!" Aubrey assured the others.
Bebe suddenly appeared, having passed through the ceiling. "Not if I have anything to say about it."
She gave no time to react as she kicked her foot out and tripped up Aubrey.
Angel reached out for Bebe, "Time to show you what my master taught me!" He immediately passed through Bebe and fell to the floor, vibrating from his quirk.
"Nice try, Angel, but my quirk makes it so I can't be touched by the likes of you!" Bebe said with a simper.
Aubrey slowly stood up as Angel thrashed around, trying to hit Bebe back as she kicked him in the stomach.
"Ben, quit moving so much, so I can get a clear shot!" Aubrey shouted, holding her arm in front of her.
"My name is Angel now! I had it legally changed!" Angel said, still thrashing.
Bebe stomped on his head before leaping at the others, "Get over here, Aubrey! Let's fight, mano e mano!"
Unfortunately for her, Aubrey didn't fall for it and shot a beam at her, knocking her back against the wall.
"Angel, get up! We gotta go up and get the briefcase!" Aubrey asked the static Angel.
She ran up to Angel and immediately heard snoring. "Damn it! He passed out! Jay, go upstairs, quick!" Aubrey commanded.
"Not on my watch!" Bebe shouted out as she ran on air to get to the stairs. Aubrey quickly fired a beam directly ahead of her, making Bebe fall over and land on the air as if there was a chair behind her, "Hey, I'm walking here!" Bebe exclaimed.
Aubrey rolled her eyes and shot another beam, Bebe falling through the air to dodge it. "I could do this all day," she bragged.
"Then go ahead, because I'm not letting you upstairs to stop Jay!" Aubrey yelled, shooting another beam at Bebe.
Bebe dodged away again, moving farther away from the stairs. Sunny decided to turn his attention to the monitor that had Jay and Charlie on it.
"So, uh, Charlie... interesting costume. It's really fuzzy." Jay said, making conversation as he pushed with all his might against Charlie. Charlie didn't budge.
She answered his comment with her own, "Yours looks pretty comfortable, too."
Jay shrugged. His combination of shorts and a decorated t-shirt style top was pretty loose, though not so fuzzy. "Thanks, it's more so I can absorb more energy from the sun for my quirk."
"That's cool," Charlie replied simply.
"You... uh... aren't gonna ask what it is?" Jay said, now trying to climb Charlie without accidentally touching somewhere inappropriate.
Charlie shrugged, making Jay lose his grip. "It's your business. Your quirk doesn't really matter if it can't get past mine."
"And that quirk is..?" Jay asked, now trying to sidle past Charlie. It wasn't working.
After watching Jay fail sidling, she answered, "It's called Wall. Almost nothing can make me move from a spot once I'm in it. Also makes me grow a lot taller and wider than normal. So uh... I'd give up if I were you," she looked down at Jay with pity.
"I can't just give up! My team is counting on me! Sorry, Charlie, but I'm gonna need to get a little violent," Jay warned as he started kicking at Charlie's legs.
She didn't move, even to flinch, "It's okay, I can barely feel you, anyway."
Jay began to try and crawl between Charlie's legs, as there was a small gap. Charlie did not let that happen as she kicked Jay in the face, knocking him back. "Oops, sorry, didn't mean to hit your face, but I can't let you through."
"Oh yes, you can! Now, Jay, go for it!" She shouted as she blasted Charlie in the face with a beam, holding it as long as she could. Jay crawled past Charlie as she wildly kicked around with her left foot.
Jay had barely made it through, and Aubrey promptly passed out after holding the laser and fell down the stairs.
Sunny watched as Jay quickly grabbed the briefcase and ran to the roof. He paused, looking around for a minute.
"He'll figure out that doesn't count as escaping soon... but then what will he do?" Captain Canuck wondered aloud. Jay took a deep breath and steeled his nerves.
Then, he jumped off the building. "Holy! Just because we have Dr. Hendrik doesn't mean you can just go jumping off buildings... at least, without any shock absorption!"
Basil quickly rushed to catch him, no longer concerned with villainous behaviour. Instead of catching Jay, however, he landed on Basil's back.
"Woah, thanks for the save, Basil," Jay said gratefully.
"I think I broke my back," groaned Basil pitifully.
"Is the school nurse coming!?" Sunny asked, suddenly very worried due to Basil's new injury.
Captain Canuck nodded, "No worries. The school doctor is on the way," he said with an irresponsible grin.
"You mean a school nurse, right?" asked Rai with some confusion, "I've never heard of a school doctor..."
"Oh, he's no nurse. Try and call him one to his face, and you might end up being quadriplegic!" Captain Canuck joked, before waving his hand up and down, "I'm kidding, I'm kidding... well, if I call him that it probably wouldn't be a joke, but he's great with kids!"
"We aren't kids," noted Rai.
Captain Canuck frowned, "I know, but I can't help thinking of you little people as kids! It won't stop 'til you're in your 20s, like me!"
"You're 31," Rai noted again. Captain Canuck simply made a frustrated noise as the bell rang.
"Alright, class dismissed. Have fun at history or whatever. See you guys tomorrow!"
