Olivia's P.O.V:

During an extremely busy day of work, thanks to the fact that I decided to take off yesterday, I finally submitted the restraining order I had been meaning to for years now. Deep down I knew Jason would always be a problem, but since he hadn't been around for so long I tricked myself into believing he'd given up.

After his appearance that night, I knew the line had been officially crossed. He needs to be cut away from my life before he can do any more damage. It was only recently through the help of Cassidy that I was able to stave off his hateful and nasty rhetoric towards the world and myself.

Once I finally returned home, I was more than ready to collapse into her arms and have a deep night's sleep to forget this entire dilemma.

To my surprise though, her car wasn't in its normal space, meaning she wasn't home.

Where she could be was lost on me, so I decided to call her as I walked inside.

*Trillllll*

*Trillllll*

*Trillllll*

*Trillllll*

At this point my hopes for her answering the phone simmered still.

*Trillllll*

*Trillllll*

Yet it rang twice more before going dead, giving me her voicemail.

Where was she so late?

I suppose it didn't matter, and was probably just a visit with one of her friends, but I couldn't help but notice her lack of mention toward the fact that she would be gone. It just made me curious, and slightly worried.

Lingering on looming thoughts of my dearest love wouldn't do any good though, so instead of continuing my toiling on the couch, I buried myself in the files on my computer. Getting work done would definitely take my mind away for at least a moment, and still... surely she was just visiting with Daisy or Wendy...

I only got through half a document before that thought brought me out of my chair and at my neighbor's doorstep.

"Olivia?" Jade answered the door with surprise. "Hello Jade," I smile before slowly falling back to a frown, "I'm looking for your daughter. She didn't happen to stop by? Maybe she took Daisy out somewhere?" I asked with a glimmer of hope shining through my voice.

"Well..." she looked aside with regret, before I heard my daughter's voice within the house.

"Mom? Why are you looking for Cass? She just dropped me off a little while ago. She's not at home?" She asked while tossing bits of popcorn into her open mouth and getting off the couch. "No, no she isn't home. She didn't text me either, which alarmed me, and it was even more alarming when I called and she... well, didn't pick up."

The house was now silent aside from the light rain drops that recently began falling from the sky.  We stood in this silence for some time before Daisy finally spoke up again.

"She did seem quite off today. Something constantly nagging her mind, I could tell. Obviously the stuff with... Jason." Daisy spoke her own father's name, not daring to give him the respect of the title: dad. "But she can't be gone because of that, so it might just be Wendy or... I don't know. But it must be a secret nonetheless for some reason. A surprise?" She suggests, to which I couldn't help but beg for that scenario.

"Clearly, a surprise." Jade spoke, taken back by the whole thing. "Let's hope it's a fun one."

"I don't do well with hope. I-I can't even work right now, and you know that's almost impossible for me." I spoke frantically, the cracks slowly seeping their way through my armor. "I know my love, she would've texted... answered my call... she must be incredibly distracted to have not even thought about it." My severe thoughts continue to leak out before Jade and my daughter, who stood near trying to comfort me. I understood, they love her unconditionally as well... but my mind was on fire.
My love is gone, with no warning nor reply.
