“Heartbroken?”

Jing Yuan’s voice was soft when he escorted y/n back to her seat. She could go back to her place, but she didn’t want to run into anyone she knew. Not the Stellaron Hunters, not the Express Crew, not Gepard, and definitely not Dan Heng. She doubted that he would be waiting for her in her apartment, but then again, it wasn’t like she actually knew him.

“Yes…”

She looked to him as he had taken them to sit in his office, and she sat down in one of his chairs. The cushion felt nice as she sunk into it.

“What else do you feel?”

“Betrayed? I don’t know. He was always so sweet to me. I guess I chose not to notice his odd behaviors because I wanted to feel like I was experiencing what love was.”

“Do you want to talk about it?”

She shook her head as she looked at him, “no…not anymore.”

Jing Yuan straightened up his posture then, his expression turning serious as he looked at her. His expression looked calculating. She steadied her heart, calmed her nerves, and tried to focus on anything but on Dan Heng. She doesn’t have time to be hurt. Not now.

It’s time she starts worrying about herself and not about others.

“Would you like to discuss a marriage contract then?”

Standing up, she smiled to Jing Yuan, “I don’t wish to discuss that either.”

“Then what are-“

“I plan on facing the stellaron hunters, like I should hace at the start, and …apologize to Blade as well.”

“Blade has-“

“Blade has already told me what he has done unlike Dan Heng and..unlike you.”

“Unlike me?”

Jing Yuan seemed baffled by her words and she steeled herself, “yes, you may be playing the innocent messenger, but I should know better by now, right?”

He regarded y/n with an analytical stare, it felt weird having him regard her with such a look. It made her skin crawl. She was tired of these games.

“You didn’t show me mercy when you revealed the truth to me. You were just hoping I would rely on you.”

She turned to leave, but Jing Yuan stopped her, “where do you plan on going?”

“Where I should have went before. To the Stellaron Hunters. I can’t rely on you nor Dan Heng.”

“So you plan to rely on Blade?”

“Even if I do rely on him, at least he told me the truth, and I…finally understand what he meant when he said I shouldn’t have trusted anyone. Like Dan Heng…”

Jing Yuan watched you carefully, “they won’t let you go once they have you.”

“Sure they will. I mean, you said it yourself. I don’t follow any scripts, I don’t belong to any futures. So what man or aeon has any right to tell me what path I should follow, anyway?”

Y/n sent Jing Yuan a small smile, “see ya around, Jing Yuan.”

And when she left him to his thoughts, he couldn’t stop himself from smiling before a laugh escaped from his lips. His eyes closing as he couldn’t believe what was unfolding. He had to admit, he didn’t see this coming. And he guarantees that Elio won’t see it coming either when she arrives at his front door.

“I wonder, what it’ll take to make you mine.”
