NA-RA

"You're going out again aren't you?" I asked Heeseung who was constantly looking out the window. "I'm coming this time." I stated firmly.

"No"— i interrupted him.

"Yes i am, you said you'd let me go next time. So i'm going." I put on my shoes and also looked out the window the same time as him.

He sighed, "okay fine, but you have to stay by my side the entire time. Luckily we won't need to distract the guards today cause mother has called them in to update the security."

"If mother saw me in this outfit right now i think she'd faint." I said while thinking about her reaction while Heeseung stifled a laugh.

"The car's here, let's go." Heeseung said as he once again took a different set of keys, "some of my other friends are probably going to be in the car."

I was getting a little excited to meet new people especially at the thought of possibly having friends that are girls to relate with. As we stepped outside we noticed the black jeep waiting outside the gate. Both me and Heeseung looked back just to make sure there were no guards and then we set off towards the car.

Heeseung knocked on the window of the car and it rolled down revealing a boy who was around the same age as Heeseung. His features were distinct and sharp. "i'm bringing my sister with me." He told the boy who was also the driver.

"That's cool!" He smiled and tilted his head towards me, "i'm Jay." Even though his features were sharp, the minute he smiled it all melted away.

Heeseung stood in between me and the window Jay was looking through, "you're gonna have to sit in the back with the others, don't worry they're all nice." Heeseung opened the door and to my surprise there were three other boys, why was i expecting to make girl friends. But this was good too.

"That's Jungwon, Sunoo, and Ni-ki." Heeseung said, "guys this is my sister, Na-Ra."

They all waved to which i returned back and i stepped into the car. Jay started driving while talking to Heeseung .

"This is crazy! I never thought i'd be sitting in the same car as a princess." Ni-ki said while the others agreed.

"so where are we going?" I asked, eager to know.

"we're going to race." Jungwon replied, excited, "this is going to be your first time right?"

Heeseung interrupted before i could even speak, "No you're not racing Na-Ra."

"don't worry, you can sit in the car with us while we race." Sunoo whispered

We arrived to the racetrack in no time, the music was blaring, girls and boys wearing clothes that was barely covering anything and dancing. On the left, the line of brightly coloured cars caught my eyes.

We walked through the crowd as a small passage was made, "is it just me or is everyone like staring at us more than usual today?" Ni-ki asked while cautiously looking around.

"They're not looking at us, they're looking at Na-Ra." Jay said. Suddenly i felt extremely self conscious and could hear the whispers, they weren't really whispers since we could all hear them.

who is she?

i want her number.

is she going to race i'll bet all my money on her with a body like that.

"stay close to us." Jungwon muttered as we abruptly stopped. Heeseung who was in front of me turned around to face the crowd, his eyes piercing. I had never seen him this angry.

"Na-Ra is my sister and nobody will be approaching her." The crowd went silence until music suddenly blasted from the speakers.

"Is Heeseung like the leader or something?" I asked Sunoo.

He thought for a moment, "yeah, something like that. He basically just  gave everyone a nice warning. Anyways come on they're gonna start racing now!"

There were four drivers and only three were present. "Is Jake and Sunghoon there?" Jungwon asked to which Jay nodded. I had watched one of the races and badly wanted to try but i knew Heeseung wouldn't let me.

"anyone can race right?" I asked.

Jay looked at me, "yeah... but not you, Heeseung told me not to let you race."

I looked around, "Heeseung is currently not here." He was the one who told me to stay by his side but now he disappeared.

"I think you should race. You just drive straight down towards the trees and turn on the corner to come back to the finish line." Ni-ki said while the others tried stopping him by covering his mouth.

"I agree with you Ni-ki." I said as i quickly walked towards the cherry red Porsche and got inside the drivers seat. I had my driving licence but could never put it to use. But now i could.

Amidst the roaring engines and the crowd cheers i could hear the commentator bellowing,

Three...

Two...

One...

GO!

I set off ahead all the cars, the engine roared in my ears and i pressed firm on the accelerator driving straight just like Ni-ki had said. It oddly felt like freedom. Once i spotted the corner i pressed lightly on the break to make a smooth turn and did exactly that. The wind blew harshly against my face but it felt good.

I looked at the rear view mirrors and spotted one car catching up to me, a black McLaren. It was the last bit of the racetrack and i pressed down on the accelerator as i looked out the window and made eye contact with the driver of the McLaren.

During that split second it had felt like time had stopped.

But i didn't get distracted: i pressed down and before i knew it i passed the McLaren and headed straight for the finish line. The girl at the line waved the flag indicating i had won.

The crowd set out ear splitting cheers as i stepped out and the McLaren and the rest of the cars pulled up. My hair tie had fell loose onto the ground and the high ponytail had fallen.

Just as i was about to pick up my scrunchie, someone beat me to it.

"That was a good race princess."
