8. Pizza

You sat in a chair as your mother dabbed concealer onto your face. Right now she was trying to cover up the fact that you had a black eye.

"That girl at the hospital was beautiful" Your mother suddenly said.

"Yaoyorozu?" You asked. She was the only girl that you had introduced her to at the hospital, so you assumed it had to be her.

Your mother nodded. "I bet she doesn't have to spend an hour on make up everyday, she's beautiful naturally."

You tried to imagine Yaoyorozu in your head, and it was true.

She is beautiful.

School that day was uneventful. You didn't turn around to ask Yaoyorozu or Todoroki any questions, you were just trying to avoid them because you were embarrassed about the whole fainting thing.

Aizawa did announce that the school's sports festival was coming up, and instead of making you excited or determined it just made you anxious. The sports festival meant competition. And you knew your mother would be watching, ready to critique in anyway.

For now you just tried to push the thought out of your mind, you'll deal with that when the time comes.

Once the bell rung you started packing up your stuff to leave.

"L/n?" Yaoyorozu said.

I almost made it. Please don't say anything about the fainting.

You turned to her to see what she wanted.

"Can I walk you home today?" She asked. "I noticed that I pass you on my way to school in the morning."

Oh.

"Sure" You said.

There was no harm in that, right? It was just a walk home.

Throughout the walk Yaoyorozu kept asking you questions. A lot of questions. As if she were trying to get to the bottom of something. You actually found it a bit strange, but you still answered them to the best of your ability.

"Where did you go to school before this?" She would ask.

"This is my first time going to a school." You'd answer.

One of the ones that shocked Yaoyorozu was this one. "What's your favorite holiday?"

"What's a holiday?" You asked back.

Yeah, she wasn't expecting that.

"It's a special day that people celebrate." She explained. "Some big ones are New year's, Christmas, Halloween"

You shook your head. "I haven't heard of any of those."

"Okay... How about your birthday? When's that?" She asked.

You just blinked at her.

"Like the date you were born on" She clarified.

You shrugged. "I don't remember things from that long ago, I can barely remember names"

Yaoyorozu hated this. It hurt her to know that you had never celebrated your birthday before. This was really weird, maybe Todoroki was right.

You turned towards your house and waved to Yaoyorozu. "This is my house, I'll see you tomorrow"

"Actually!" Yaoyorozu said as you were opening the front door. "I wanted to ask your mom something"

That scared you.
