Your mother's eyes widened. "Surrendered?" She asked quietly. She leaned forward in her seat and shouted down at you from the stands. "You surrendered?!"

You lowered your head and squeezed your eyes shut again. You couldn't help but cry. And this time it wasn't because of the punishment you knew you would receive, it wasn't because of your mother yelling at you, and it wasn't because you lost.

It was because your hands and feet felt like they were burning. There wasn't a speck of healthy skin on them, it had all cracked and peeled off during your match, leaving behind raw, bleeding skin. The air was stinging the wounds and you couldn't do anything about it because the slightest movement would just hurt even more.

You slowly rose to your feet even though the pain was too much to bear and started to walk out of the arena, you needed to get to Recovery Girl's office as soon as possible, it was the only thing you could focus on.

Unfortunately your mother was already a step ahead of you, she had already made her way down to block your path.

"You surrendered?!" She asked as she approached you. "You surrendered?! That's worse than losing! What's the matter with you?!"

"I ran out of power!" You explained through your tears. 'I couldn't— couldn't use my quirk anymore!' You held up your hands to show her. "I couldn't! It wouldn't come out no matter how hard I tried!"

She suddenly reached for your hand and you got a flashback to the day she broke your finger for getting healed by Recovery Girl. It was just like that day.

She grabbed two of your fingers at once and you heard your bones crack as she bent them backwards.

You let out a scream of pain before quickly covering your mouth with the inside of your elbow, biting on the material of your gym uniform to muffle the scream.

Then she put the end of her cane against your shoe and pressed her weight on it, forcing another cry out of you.

Your mother wiped her hand off on your sleeve, smearing your blood across it.

"I— I don't know what you wanted me to do!" You cried. "I used all my power— My quirk wouldn't work anymore— Look at my hands!—"

You stopped talking when she slapped you across the face.

"Fix your eyes right now little girl." She said sternly as she grabbed your chin with one hand and forced you to look at her. "What color should they be when you're in my presence?"

"...Grey" You answered with a sniffle.

You shut your eyes and tried to calm yourself down. It didn't work though, you were too upset and in way too much pain. So when you opened your eyes again they were still blue.

"I'm gonna kill you when we get home." Your mother muttered under her breath before turning and walking away.

You didn't know what to do. You were standing in the hallway, tears streaming down your face, your breathing out of control with your hands held out in front of you.

You were scared that if you tried to go to Recovery Girl's office you would run into your mother again.

"L/n? L/n, what's the matter?"

Midnight walked into the hallway and put her hand on your back. "Come on you have to get to Recovery Girl"

As she was walking with you she couldn't help but look at your hands. The sight was enough to make her cringe but she couldn't stop looking at your fingers.

"L/n are your fingers broken?" She asked.

You nodded your head.

Midnight walked you into Recovery Girl's office and sat you down on one of the beds.

"I'll go get Recovery Girl—" Midnight started to say as she went to go look for her.

"No!" You quickly said. "Ple— Please can you stay with me? I don't want her to find me again!"

Midnight stopped in her tracks. "You don't want Recovery Girl to find you?"
