13. Internships

The next day in school you had to sit through one of the most unbearable headaches ever. Most of the day you just put your head down on your desk and closed your eyes.

"L/n?"

"L/n?"

You sat up when you heard Aizawa call your name. And then you looked up to see that he was standing right next to your desk.

"Your paper" He said as he pointed at your desk. "You need to hand it in"

You looked down at the paper on your desk, you honestly didn't even remember getting it.

"Ummmm..." You dragged out as you tried to quickly read it. It was for hero agency internships. "One secondddd..."

You looked through your list of offers.

At the top of your list was one name that stood out.
Endeavor...

Did you want to go to Endeavor's agency? Did you want to spend all that time with Todoroki even though you knew he hated you now and that you had embarrassed yourself?

Probably not.

But would your mother want you to pick it?

Yes.

You quickly circled your choice on your paper and handed it to Aizawa.

Towards the end of the day, Midnight came into the classroom to help everyone choose their hero names. She handed out whiteboards and gave the class a few minutes to think of their names before people started presenting.

You just stared at your empty board the whole time, unsure of what to write.

After almost everyone went, Midnight called you up to share your name.

You rubbed the back of your neck as you walked up to the front of the room. You shrugged your shoulders as you showed your empty board.

"I dunno..." You said quietly.

You couldn't remember if your mother had picked a hero name for you, and you didn't want to get in trouble for choosing one without her permission.

"Uh— Can I choose tomorrow?" You asked as you looked over at Midnight. "I have to ask my mother."

Midnight nodded her head. "Of course, but remember it is ultimately your decision. Don't choose a name just cause your mother wants it."

"Okay" You said quietly as you returned to your seat.

You knew that you would in fact just choose a name cause your mother wants it.

When you got home that day you'd have to pack for your internship. Even though you'd be staying for a week there wasn't much to pack, just your school clothes and workout clothes along with your hero costume. Then you just had to get through school, and you'd be off to your internship.

"L/n" Yaoyorozu said as she sat down with you at lunch. "Have you decided on a hero name?"

"Oh." You looked up at her. "I forgot to ask my mother. I'll ask her another day, after the internships."

As Yaoyorozu nodded her head, Todoroki sat down next to you at the table.

"L/n?" He asked. "Can I talk to you?"

Why? Why? Why? Why?

"Okay" You said calmly.

Yaoyorozu looked back and forth between you two and then decided that she should give you both a moment alone. "I'm gonna go to the bathroom" She said as an excuse as she stood up.

After a short moment of awkward silence, Todoroki sighed.

"I'm sorry" He said while looking you in the eyes. "I didn't mean to hold back against you during the sports festival, I honestly don't know why I did."
