In which a quirkless teen doesn't mind the fact she can't be a hero, until the Number 1 Hero comes along and makes her life a mess.
[Fem!Reader takes the place of Midoriya]
The next day on the way to school, Y/n ran into one of her classmates, Jiro Kyoka, while coming out of a market.
"L/n?"
Glancing to the left, Y/n caught sight of the dark purpled haired girl. "Hey, uh, Jiro right?"
The female nodded. "Yeah." She read the market sign before glancing at the paper bag in Y/n's grasp. "Do you always shop in the mornings?"
Y/n shook her head. "Nah, I just wanted a drink, and I visit someone on occasion on the way." Y/n reached into the paper bag and pulled out 2 milks, one banana and one strawberry. She offered both for the girl to pick one. Jiro examined the 2 before choosing the strawberry flavor to Y/n's delight. "You wanna walk with me?"
"Sure." Jiro smiled. "Thanks."
"It's nothing, and you can just call me Y/n, I prefer it."
"Alright." Usually Jiro would have had music playing, but decided she enjoyed Y/n's company enough to listen to the tame silence between them. After a few sips of her drink, Jiro spoke up again. "So, who do you usually meet? A friend?"
"Not exactly. We're almost there."
Coming upon an alley between 2 buildings that extended out to the trees, Y/n paused in her steps as she seemed to wait. Nervous, Jiro checked the time on her phone, hoping they had enough time.
"There he is." Y/n cooed.
Jiro looked up and saw a red fox trotting up to the two. The earphone girl anxiously took a step back. "Uh Y/n I don't think that's is a good idea."
She was referring to the fact Y/n was crouched down pulling out a small container of blackberries, intending to feed them to the canine.
"I promise he's friendly."
Jiro wordlessly watched as Y/n puts a hand out with 3 berries on her palm, the fox inching closer before taking them in his mouth. This continued once more before Y/n turned her head up at her classmate. "Come here."
Slowly but surely, Jiro took a step closer and took the same position as the taller girl. The fox took a cautious step back and gave a guarded stare.
"Here." Y/n placed 4 berries in Jiro's palm before grabbing her wrist, moving it closer to the red animal. The fox warily came closer and sniffed the purple haired teen's hand before deciding it was safe and eating the fruit from her.
The 2 girls continued feeding the canine until all the berries were gone and Y/n placed the now empty container in the bag to throw away later. The fox dropped his head down.
