In which a quirkless teen doesn't mind the fact she can't be a hero, until the Number 1 Hero comes along and makes her life a mess.
Y/n knew she had to make the first move against Tokoyami. Dark Shadow could immediately take her out if the entity had the chance.
Her best bet would be erratic enough to where her movements couldn't be predicted. Her only other one-up she had on the male was his quirk was a little weaker during the day.
The girl lunged towards Tokoyami, dodging Dark Shadow at the last second. She activated her quirk as she jumped, swinging her right leg in a roundhouse motion.
The force would have knocked him out of bounds if Dark Shadow hadn't covered him from the blast.
Tokoyami dodged the punch aimed at his gut and grabbed Y/n's wrist, tugging it towards himself as he jerked his knee up.
Y/n grunted as pain spread throughout her stomach. When he let her go, dropping her, she swept her legs under his own, knocking him off balance.
Dark Shadow jumped out and grabbed the girl between their dark hands, bringing her up into the air. As she flailed, the entity started carrying her to to the outside of the ring.
Y/n panicked and wiggled her left arm around, getting it free and flicking a blast at the ground, kicking up chucks of the earth. As Dark Shadow lifted a claw to shield herself from the debris, the teen slammed her right elbow back repeatedly as hard as she could into the creature. When she was dropped, she looked down to make sure she was still in bounds and dodged the shadow coming her way again.
Dark Shadow aimed a punch at Y/n, who countered with a punch of her own.
It felt like all she could do was punch Dark Shadow who punched back, the entity trying to get her out of the ring while she tried to get to Tokoyami.
It would have been futile if Dark Shadow's sluggishness went unnoticed. Her movements slowed down, it gave Y/n enough time to make a move.
The second Dark Shadow pulled back, the girl jumped and swung her leg downwards, sending more debris towards the male.
Tokoyami coughed and tried swatting the dust away from his face when he felt hands on his waist. Before he could blink, he heard Midnight's voice travel through the air.
"Tokoyami is out of bounds!"
The sounds of the cheering crowd filled Y/n's ears as she held out a hand to the male on the ground, helping him up when he grabbed it.
