At the end of the week it was the end of the internships. Y/n stood outside Torino's house with Meeko sitting in her bag. "Thanks for everything. And sorry about your pay cut, I know money's important to geezers on social security."

Torino yawned, waving her off. "I don't think there's any reason for you to thank me. I wasn't around when the really big stuff happened."

"Well if you haven't taught me anything, I'd probably be dead from Stain." She groaned and glared at the old man as he hit her knee with his cane again.

"You survived only because the hero killer let you. Well at least you learned to channel your power instead of relying on one monster smash, even though it does still strain your muscles."

Y/n stared at the wood doors, spacing out as Torino went on nagging her.

"I'm sure you know this, but if you plan to stay a hero, then you've got a heck of a lot to learn, girl. Also here," He tossed her some dog treats. "Only give them the dog when he does something good, start feeding him more meats too if you want him to live longer."

Y/n nodded, stuffing them under Meeko's body. "Oh, I've been meaning to ask something, it's been bugging me. You're super strong and basically a mentor to All Might, so why aren't you exactly known?"

"Oh that's an easy one. I was just never that interested working as a pro hero."

That caught Y/n full attention. "Seriously?"

"There's a point in my past when I needed to be able to use my quirk freely without limits, that's the only reason I got my license. It might be better to hear this better from Toshi. All Might I mean, he can explain this better than me."

Y/n's shoulders dropped. "Oh."

Torino turned away from the teen, ready to go inside and eat his pastries. "Kid, just because you're going to take over for Toshinori one day, doesn't mean you have to be the next number 1 hero. Just have a heart. Make people feel safe."

The girl stayed silent as he walked into his house, leaving the girl and animal standing alone outside to think about everything.
