warnings: talks of depression and suicide, stabbing, choking

After more training the next day, it was finally nighttime. Y/n and her classmates watched with pity as Aizawa drug the 6 who failed from the exams away.

Meeko wasn't anywhere to be found, so that meant he was with Kota again.

Pixie-bob began instructing the students. "Okay, so class B is going to start out as our scarers. When they're in place, class A will leave in pairs every 3 minutes. There are tags with your names on them at the far end of the route. Your goal is to collect those."

"Revelry in the dark." Tokoyami said.

Jiro leaned against Y/n, whispering into her ear. "Why does he keep saying that?" She received a shrug in response.

"Now, those who are scarers aren't allowed to make physical contact. Use your quirks to terrify the others, got it?"

"The winners are the creative students who make the most people piss their pants!" Tiger declared as the other cats posed behind him.

"Did we need that visual?" Jiro murmured as Tenya went on another tangent on how it was incredibly useful for their training as heroes.

As the class was assigned partners, Y/n ended up with Todoroki.

"Revelry in the dark."

When Y/n and Todoroki went in, it was mostly silent, save for the few screams from some of the girls further in the forest.

"Can I ask you something?" Todoroki broke the silence first.

Y/n's eyes looked away from a couple bushes where she swore eyes had been peeking out of and turned to the male. "Yeah?"

He hesitated. "It's... a really personal question." The last thing he wanted to do with Y/n was overstep a boundary and make her upset.

"That's alright. You've met my mother so I don't really think we can get more personal than that."

Todoroki looked at her. "Have you tried killing yourself before?"

Y/n almost tripped in her footsteps.

The heterochromia eyed male continued, trying to explain the reasoning for his question. "You said you didn't like being alone. I noticed you're constantly with one of our classmates, or always working. I just put everything together."

The girl didn't answer for what felt like the longest time as they continued on their trek through the forest. "I'm sorry, I just wasn't expecting such a question...I'm not really sure how to answer that either." She gnawed on her lip. "I guess the loneliness just piled up on me. A few years ago, the only reason I left the house was to buy Meeko some more food, and when I ended up with a job, there were people. I didn't have to lay around all day waiting for...nothing."
