SIX ✮rodeo disaster

AFTER STOPPING AT A TOWN THAT WAS HIT BY THE TORNADO, the gang headed back to the motel. lainey headed to her room and took a shower, trying to just calm herself down from seeing the people with nothing. she got out of the shower, putting her hair in a towel, when she heard a knock at her door. lainey wrapped herself with another towel and walked out of the bathroom. she figured tyler would be standing there, but when she opened the door, kate stood there.
"can we talk?" kate asked, looking at lainey wrapped in a towel, "please."
lainey pressed her lips together, hesitating. she knew this probably wouldn't end well. "sure." lainey let kate come inside her room, and she shut the door. lainey walked over to her suitcase and grabbed some athletic shorts and a long sleeve shirt. "what do you want?" lainey walked over to her bathroom, looking back at her sister, who noticed the tattoo on lainey's back.
"nice tattoo."
lainey smiled, "thanks."
she got stars and planets along her spine one night when she was drunk. lainey walked into her bathroom and slipped on her bra and underwear. "i'm sorry." kate said as lainey opened up the bathroom door. "i messed up." lainey nodded, pulling her shirt over her head, "and you were grieving." the girl slipped on her shorts, "it was real shitty of me."
lainey nodded again, "it was."
the brunette leaned against the wall behind her as kate pressed her lips together, "i needed to leave, everything became to much for me." kate looked at lainey, who clicked her tongue, "i should've said goodbye-"
"and maybe answered my calls."
kate nodded, "and answered your calls."
lainey walked over to her window, looking out at the group of people down by a campfire, "you left me when i needed you the most." lainey stated, "then to make it worse, you completely ignore me for five years." the girl ran her hand through her damp hair, "then you come back into my life and try to take tyler away from me-"
"wait what?"
as if he was listening, there was a knock at the door. lainey walked over to the door and opened it, to reveal tyler standing there with a box of pizza in his hands. "hey lains." he looked past the girl to see kate standing there, "city girl." he quickly looked back at lainey, "why is city girl..." lainey grabbed tyler and brought him into her room, shutting the door, "lainey, have you been hiding something from me?"
lainey sighed, "no. i haven't."
tyler nodded slowly, "then why is she in your room?"
lainey took a breath, looking at kate, who stood up, "we were just talking. turns out we have a lot in common." kate replied with a small smile, looking at her sister, who took a breath of relief. "i can leave-"
