IT WAS A RAINY AFTERNOON IN A SMALL TOWN IN OKLAHOMA. the tornado wranglers were all in a bar, drinking and playing darts. lainey carter was practically sitting on a random mans lap, talking his ear off and twirling her hair. tyler watched from afar, his eyes glaring at the man that placed his hand on her ass. "you gotta stop staring." boone stated, shoving tyler playfully, "she's an adult, she can do what she wants."
tyler looked at boone with a glare, "he's practically making out with her-"
"he's not."
"you're way to jealous owens." lily stated, walking up to the two, "she's fine. its not a big deal." tyler pressed his lips together and turned away from the two, knowing that he wanted to beat the shit out of that guy. his hands were rubbing all along her back, slipping underneath her shirt. lainey giggled at something he said, to drunk to realize what was happening. tyler clenched his jaw, watching from afar as the man put his lips on hers. lainey jumped back by surprise, but then she grabbed his face began to make out with him.
"alright thats it." tyler walked over to the two, "lainey, lets go."
lainey immediately looked at him with wide eyes. "what?" she snapped before tyler grabbed her by the arm, "dude! seriously!?"
"yes lainey!"
lainey followed tyler out of the bar with a glare, "why do you care so bad!" she slurred, standing in front of him with a glare on her face, "we are friends tyler! nothing more! get over it!"
"get over it?" tyler snapped, throwing his hands up. "you're acting like a complete whore lainey!"
lainey stared at him, her eyes filled with hatred. she opened her mouth to say something but she just turned around, walking out from under the roof. tyler watched as she walked away, scoffing as he went back inside the bar. lainey walked out into the rain, tears welling up in her eyes. she didn't know where she was headed, but she was done with tyler owens.
she continued to walk down the road, wondering if they even cared that she was gone. the wind suddenly picked up, making her go wide eyed. she turned around to run back to the bar, but she realized that there was definitely a tornado. lighting flashed in the distance, showing a tornado hiding in the night. she looked around, the alcohol leaving her system quickly as she realized she needed to get in a ditch.
lainey ran down towards the bottom of the ditch. she laid down in the water feeling her phone buzz. she shut her eyes as the wind picked up. mud hit her face as she quickly covered her head, screaming in fear as the tornado passed. lainey felt straw and mud cover her body, but she didn't move. she wanted tyler. she needed tyler.
suddenly it all stopped.
lainey moved her arms, looking at her body that was soaked head to toe in mud. she wiped off of her face, smudging the mud all over it. she sat up, a smile creeping on her face. "holy shit. i just survived that." she stated, not even caring her favorite clothes were trashed. she stood up, "i just survived that!"
she suddenly heard a truck pull over behind her, making lainey turn around to see boone, lily, dexter, tyler, and dani all get out of it, "holy shit lainey!" lily exclaimed, "are you okay!"
lainey immediately burst into laughter, "i'm fine!" she laughed in complete excitement before she ran to tyler, "i'm still mad at you, but look at me!" she showed off her muddy clothes, "i actually survived a goddamn tornado-"
"it was an ef1." boone spoke, "but so glad you're okay."
lainey looked at boone immediately flipping him off, "um, fuck you." she looked back tyler, "aren't you happy!"
tyler rolled his eyes, "of course i am."
"get in the goddamn truck lainey mae." dani stated, putting her arm around her shoulder, "don't run off again."
lainey smirked, "if i keep surviving tornados, then i just might." she shrugged, "builds character."
tyler stared at the girl in disbelief, "lainey mae carter, don't every say that again."
lainey pressed a muddy kiss to his cheek, "you love me."
the blonde rolled his eyes, "debatable."
lainey quickly turned around, slapping him on the chest, "don't ever call me a whore again." everyone looked at tyler in disbelief, "love ya!"
tyler nodded, "yes ma'am."
