I woke up to an empty bed. Xie Lian's side was neatly made and cold as I reached my hand out to touch it. This wasn't the first time he'd gotten up earlier than me and left, I know the only reason he would leave early without telling me was when he had a meeting with Jun Wu. I also know he'll tell me everything when he gets back but I couldn't help but feel as though this time was different from the others.

"Morning master". E Ming said walking into the room as I sat up. "A letter from Xie Lian just came in". "Gege sent a note"?

Why wouldn't he just use the mind link?

I'm sorry I wasn't able to wake up next to you this morning. Jun Wu had a last-minute mission for me and I had to go right away. I packed a few bags in case he would feel generous enough to give me a few days off. While away from him I planned on making as many happy moments with Feng Xin and Cuo as I possibly could.

The teleportation array on the door was made within seconds. I opened it and smiled as I took in the sight of his home once again. The outside was cold but inside was warm and gave me a sense of home. A feeling I hadn't been able to feel in months.

"Papa, your back"! I smiled as Cuo ran over to me and jumped in my arms. "You've gotten bigger since the last time I saw you". "You think so"? "I know so. Where's your daddy"?

"In his office working, I was playing with Daisy but she fell asleep on my bed". I chuckled. "How about you and I go have that snowball fight then hm"? "Really"! His eyes lit up. "Mhm, I've missed out on so much, I want to spend as much time with you as I possibly can". He hugged my neck.

I quickly changed into a long dark blue shirt and had a matching jacket with fake fur around the top over it as I wore black pants and matching boots. Cuo was in a light blue shirt with white pants and matching boots. I smiled as he led me out to the backyard and started making snowballs.

He picked one up and smiled as he threw it at me but I quickly turned my head to the side dodging it. He looked at me shocked before throwing another one only to miss again. I made one and threw it at him hitting him in the chest. "Focus, don't just throw wildly if you really want to hit me".

He nodded before making another one, this time I let him hit my leg before making another one of my own and missing him on purpose. He smiled jumping a little before we both ran off in different directions and threw multiple snowballs at each other over and over while laughing. The entire time I could feel Feng Xin watching us lovingly.
