Viv's POV: Hugo and Cornelia's reaction to the twins (2030)

Beth had our twins 4 days ago, we left Hugo and Nelly with Richard, Ben and Liv. Beth's been kept in hospital for 4 days after having a c-section. Today we're going home and the kids will be bought home tomorrow, Richard thought it would be a good idea to give us a night with them just so we can get used to it. 

I get the twins dressed and then I help Beth. "I hate being slow and not able to do stuff myself" said Beth, groaning. I sit beside her and hold her hand. "Beth, you bought two babies into the world. It wasn't the birth plan we wanted but it happened. You did amazingly and their healthy. Fabien and Fay, their healthy, happy and so, so loved. You have me now as your slave" I said, kissing her head. 

"But the scar will be ugly, you won't want to see me naked anymore or make love to me" said Beth, looking down. I pull her head up and look in her eyes. "That scar will be beautiful, Beth. That will remind us of how strong you were during the birth, and I will make love to you 24/7 if I have to prove that I love your body and your scar from this. I love you Beth and this.... this doesn't bother me. I love you and your insanely good looking body" I said. Beth tears up and kisses me. 

"I love you, thank you" said Beth. "Always" I said, smiling. I help her into the wheelchair and nurses help us with bringing the babies out. I get the twins into the car and then get Beth into the car. I slide into the driver seat and begin the drive home. 

Once I get the twins into the house, I help Beth out. I help her sit on the sofa and then I hand her Fay. I sit beside her with Fabien and smile. "So, they look just like Hugo, it's crazy" said Beth, smiling. "It is. Mmmm, I'll cook dinner in a bit. Let's snuggle with our twins" I said, smiling. "I like that idea" said Beth, smiling. 

I place Fabien in the pillow cot on the sofa beside Beth and go cook an easy, simple dinner. Once I finish, I go put the twins in their moses baskets that we have downstairs. I hand Beth her plate and we dig in. 

"Thank you, Vivi" said Beth. "It's my pleasure" I said. "We have four kids" said Beth. "We do" I said. "You happy with only having four?" asked Beth. I nod. "I am, two girls, two boys. The perfect family in my eyes" I said, smiling. Beth smiles and then I clean up.

Beth is breastfeeding but she pumped a lot in hospital, so while Beth breastfeeds Fay, I feed Fabien. We wind them and then we change their nappies. We spend the rest of the evening just watching reality tv. 

NEXT DAY

We have been up since 7:30am and have everything ready for when Hugo and Nelly come home. Beth's on the sofa in sweatpants and one of my tops. I have jeans, a tank top and my runners. I have my hair in a bun and we enjoy our morning.

We hear the door open and I smile. Beth's holding Fay cause she's just had a feed and I have Fabien. 

Richard walks in with Hugo who's 3 and Nella who's 1. Ben has Nella though in his arms. Hugo runs to Beth. "Hey buddy, be careful with mummy, her stomach is still a bit sore and she needs to rest ok?" I said, smiling. "Ok, mama" said Hugo. Richard lifts him up and places him beside Beth.

"This is Fay Elin Leah Miedema" said Beth, showing Hugo. "And this is Fabien Lars Tom Miedema" I said, showing Hugo. "I love them, mummy, mama" said Hugo, kissing both their heads. Nelly gets bought over and she cries. "My mummy!" cried Nelly, pointing at Beth. I look at Beth and then I hand Fabien to Richard. I stand up and take Nelly in my arms.

I sit down beside Beth and Beth nods. "Baby girl, mummy is still your mummy but these are your brother and sister, they will play with you when they are a bit older" I said. "MY MUMMY" shouted Nelly. I shake my head. "How do we deal with this?" I ask. "You make time for her" said Richard. Ben takes Fay and then I gently place Fay on Beth's lap. "Be careful, mummy has a booboo on her stomach" I said, rubbing my hands over her blonde hair. "My mumma" said Nelly, lying down. 

"It will take time" said Richard. "I know" I said, Hugo crawls on my lap. Nelly sits up and smiles. "My mama" said Nelly, crawling over to me and lying on me with Hugo. "Now I have two, I love you both" I said, kissing their heads. 

Richard, Ben and Liv leave. "Mummy.... play" said Nelly. "Not today sweetie, my stomach has a cut that needs to heal before I can get on the floor" said Beth, looking at her. Nelly begins to cry and throw her toys. I pick her up. "Hey, hey you don't throw things" I said. "Mummy no play" said Nelly. "She's tired and sore, sweetheart. When she's better she will, how about you help me with dinner?" I ask. "Ok" said Nelly. 

I get Beth settled and make sure the twins are right beside her. I go cook the roast chicken dinner and then help put the twins in their swings and then we enjoy our dinner. I clean up and we get Hugo and Nelly ready for bed. 

Once their in bed, the twins sorted and asleep, we lie on our bed. "What do we do about Nelly?" asked Beth, looking in my eyes. "We give her attention and make sure she knows we love her. She will soon forget this and love them. She knows we love her, we just have to show her. And make sure we do the same for Hugo." I said, kissing her.

"What if that doesn't work?" asked Beth, frowning. "How about this, when your recovered, we can have mummy daughter time, mummy son time. And same for me? So you and Nelly go out for the day and I'll have the twins and Hugo, then I will go out with Nelly on my own. Then we do the same with Hugo" I said. Beth tears up. "Viv I don't know where I'd be if I didn't have you. I love you and thank you for being the best wife, most caring wife ever" said Beth, kissing me. 

"I will always be here for you, Beth. I love you so, so much. Your my whole world, you and our kids" I said, kissing her. We share another kiss before falling asleep.
