Damien slipped inside Xavier's sports car, shut the door behind him and glanced at his cousin. "Thank you so much for doing this."
Xavier shrugged. "It's not a big deal. It's not like I have a mate to worry about." He started the car and backed out to the driveway.
"Have you had any dreams?" Damien asked him.
Xavier sighed. "She has red hair. Blue eyes. Perfect body."
"How long?"
"At least six months now. Maybe longer, I'm not sure," he responded.
"Too long," Damien muttered.
Xavier didn't respond to that, which didn't surprise him. Half the time, Damien wondered if Xavier would even want a mate. He was so controlled about everything. While he did some work as a liaison, he also did a lot of work for Remington Enterprises as well.
"Are you going to accept her?" Damien asked him.
Xavier frowned at him. "Why would I not?"
"What if she's not your type?"
"What's my type?"
"Some quiet little obedient thing that lays on the bed and spreads her legs for you." Damien smirked at him.
Xavier flipped him off. "More like on her knees with her mouth too full to speak."
Damien busted out laughing. "You're going to end up with some woman who is going to have you on your knees for her."
"Not likely." He put the car into park and got out of the car, then walked around to the trunk.
"When did you get this?" Damien asked him as he walked back to the trunk as well.
"About a month ago. Sweet little ride," Xavier said, grabbing his bag.
Damien grabbed his own bag. "Not exactly kid friendly."
Xavier snorted and closed the trunk. "I haven't even found her yet, and here you are, planning how many pups I'm having. You'll be having pups before me."
Damien glared at him, and Xavier glared back. They headed over to the plane and boarded it, then settled down for the flight. Damien sat back, annoyed for the first time in a long time that he had to go. He'd rather be home with Vanessa. He wasn't thrilled with the fact that she wanted to become a hybrid. Well, that wasn't true. He wasn't thrilled with how long Violet had been unconscious. He'd been worried that she wouldn't wake up and how much damage that would do to Dylan. But she had, and that made him willing to suck it up. Vanessa was rapidly getting to him. His beautiful mate would have him wrapped around her little finger before she knew it. He was falling for her rather quickly and he sort of wished he'd completed the bond with her before he left.
He pulled his phone out and was happy to see a text from Vanessa already. I miss you already.
I miss you too. I should be home tomorrow afternoon though. Then I'm getting you naked and mating you all night.
Is that a promise? Dylan took Violet out to shift and Dimitri and Zoey are here keeping me company.
Good I'm glad you're not alone.
The flight was uneventful until about an hour and a half in when they hit a storm. The turbulence got bad at that point, and Damien shoved his phone in his pocket and fastened his belt. His gaze darted to Xavier who was doing the same.
"This might make me hate flying," Xavier said, as they both tensed up.
"Tell me about it," Damien muttered, gripping the arm rests tightly.
They heard a loud noise and then the plane shook and began to nosedive. Damien exchanged glances with Xavier and swallowed hard. This was going to suck. He knew he'd survive, but that didn't mean it wasn't going to hurt.
Loud cracks started to echo through the plane, making him squeeze his eyes shut. He heard Xavier curse loudly and cool air hit him. He opened his eyes, and realized the plane was coming apart. His gaze moved to his cousin, only to realize the entire back of the plane, including Xavier was missing. Damien's heart raced and all of a sudden, the plane crashed, and pain ripped through him followed by heat and everything went black.

Dylan felt as though he was going to be nauseous. He felt sort of the same way he did when word came that Celeste had committed suicide. It had broken his bond with her then, but this was his brother. He loved Damien and his bond with him was so much stronger than it had ever been with Celeste. It was closer to the bond he shared with Violet, his mate.
He gripped her hand now tightly, reminding himself over and over again that Damien wasn't dead. He could feel his bond with his twin still strong and undamaged. He tuned back into the conversation.
"Plane is going to take off here in about twenty minutes. It went down in southern Missouri which just had a terrible storm with high winds come through. We don't know much more than that, but I'm going to be staying here and monitoring local police, and hospitals. Good luck," Trevor said.
Dylan looked at Malachi. "Keep me updated. I promised him I'd take care of Vanessa and I will do that."
Kai nodded. "I'll let you know as soon as we find him."
Dimitri walked up to him. "Dad and I are going. Take care of Zoey for me?"
He nodded.
Dimitri gave him a hug. "We'll bring him back."
"I know. I can still feel he's alive. And I know he can't die." He shook his head. "Just bring him home."
"Of course. Zoey will be over in a little bit."
The two brothers hugged once again and then Dylan turned to Violet. "Let's go home."
She nodded and they left the room.
That evening, Dimitri called Dylan. "We have him. He's alright, but he's been burned really bad. Should be recovered in a few days. He's flying back with Tyler, and the pilots. They both were burned too."
"Xavier?" Dylan asked him with a frown.
"We can't find him."
"What?"
Dimitri sighed. "He's not here. Damien is too out of it to tell us anything either, but that's why we sent him home without us. We're still searching for him."
Dylan clenched his jaw. "Do you want me to come out there?"
"No. Stay with our mates. Keep me updated about Damien's condition. We're going to keep looking for him," Dimitri said.
"Okay. I can do that. I'll talk to you soon."
"Tell Zoey I love her and I'll call her here in a bit. Love you too, little bro," Dimitri said quietly.
"I love you too. Find him."
