The Next Day: 

Author's Pov: 

As the day slowly transitions into evening, the sun starts to set on the horizon casting an array of hues across the sky. Everyone decided to go on the beach and enjoy the day with some fun game. Everyone agreed on playing Volleyball. 

Jake: "You should join too Hazel" 

Hazel: "Me? N-no I'm fine" 

Jake: "You'll be in my team, come on"

He holds her hand softly making her stand. The wind blew on her making her hairs fall behind making her look absolutely breathtaking and her dress is like a cherry top this is what Daniel thinks when he sees her. 

The game began as soon as the teams were divided. First Jake hits the ball quite hardly and from the other side Daniel jumps a little and hits back. Jake again hits, later Hazel hits too her shot was quite impressive. The match goes on for 30 minutes, here and there both the teams missed few shots. It was now Daniel's turn the score was 20 for his team and 20 for Jake's team, it was the final round. Daniel hit the ball and Hazel hit back, he saw the look in her eyes hoping to win so he purposely let the ball go even though he was all ready. Jake's team cheered while Daniel's team had disappointed look on their faces. Both Jake and Hazel had shocked look on their faces then quickly hugged each other. Daniel had a slight smile on his face seeing her happy but spark of jealously seeing her hugging Jake. 

Jake: "We won!!" 

Hazel: "Yeah!! I'm so happy for us" 

He hugged her, lifting her from the ground spinning her a little, she laughed with a little blush on her cheeks. Daniel clenched his jaw seeing them. Emma came beside him, keeping her hand on his shoulder seeing where's he is looking. He quickly changed his expression to a smiling one. 

Emma: "Let's take a walk"

Daniel: "Yeah, why not!!" 

They start walking while having small conversation. Hazel couldn't help but look towards Daniel who looked so handsome with the evening sun hitting his face making him look ethereal, she had to admit she was kind of jealous seeing Emma with him, but she reminded herself she's just a maid. 

Later: 

The sun began to set it was starting to get dark, so everyone thought of going back to home. Hazel gathered all the things in the basket and began walking. Daniel walked speedily behind her wanting to be with her. She noticed him beside her and passed him a small smile. 

Daniel: "Had fun today?" 

Hazel: Yeah...Ahh" 

while she was walking her ankle suddenly twisted making her stumble, but Daniel was quick enough to hold her by her arm. 

 Daniel: "Are you okay?" 

Hazel: "Uh..N-not really..m-my ankle" 

Daniel: "can you walk?" 

Hazel: "I-I don't know...my ankle hurts" 

she placed her hand on his shoulder for support without saying anything else he carried her in his arms in bridal style. she gasped and held onto his shoulders. he lightly chuckled. 

Daniel: "I'll carry you" 

Hazel: "S-sir...I-I can walk...you shouldn't carry me like this" 

Daniel: "And why should I not?" 

Hazel: "I-I'm just your m-maid and... Emma mam wouldn't like it" 

Daniel: "I don't care about any of those" 

she stared at his face with a smile as he carried her and walked towards his car. Emma was waiting for him but at last she sat in another car and went away. He made her sit beside the driver's seat and sat beside her.

Daniel: "Seat belt" 

He leaned in and tucked the seat belt, his face was so close to her they could almost kiss, he stared at her pretty black eyes then at her lips, he licked his own lips before backing off. She looked away with light red cheeks, he looked at her and smiled before starting the engine and driving. 

In a while they reached home, and he carefully made her get out of the car. Jake was getting out of his car when he noticed Hazel struggling to get out of the car. He quickly rushed towards her with concern. 

Jake: "Hazel are you okay? what happened?" 

Daniel: "She twisted her ankle" 

Jake: "Oh my! is it hurting a lot?" 

Hazel: "Not that much...I'll be okay" 

Jake: "shall I carry you to your room?" 

Daniel: "I'm here to help her out Jake" 

Jake: "But Emma's looking for you" 

He looked at Hazel with a hint of disappointment. Hazel's eyes sadden she wanted to stay with Daniel, but it couldn't happen. 

Hazel: "Sir...I'll be fine you can go" 

He went away and Jake carried her towards her bed. He massaged her leg and said her to rest. Hazel was feeling guilty for not saying thank you to Daniel, but she thought she'll tell him in the morning.
