Anyone But You~

Daniel: "Forbidden? who says? who gets to decide what we can and can't do? Not my family not society, nobody but us" 

He brushes his thumb against her cheek wiping away a stary tear. 

Daniel: "I don't care about rules or what's forbidden" 

He leans near her lips but quickly moves away when he hears the door opening sound. Hazel turns her back to the door wiping her tears quickly. Mrs. Hernandez enters and sees them. 

Mrs. Hernandez: "Are you ready? we have guest waiting downstairs" 

He nods trying to act normal. He goes forward with his mother not before turning to look at her. Daniel comes down and greets Emma and her parents trying to be normal but his mind his occupied with Hazel. In a while they all gather in the dining room for dinner, the sit-down having conversation while the maids serve them food. His eyes only see Hazel, watching her as she works his mind preoccupied with his earlier conversation with her. 

Mrs. Hernandez: "We want Daniel to marry Emma" 

Mr. Jordan: "Yes!! it's a perfect match" 

Mr. Hernandez: "Indeed, it would be a perfect match. Our son and your daughter get along quite well, and they come from families of similar status and wealth. It would be beneficial union for both sides" 

Daniel gets annoyed by their conversation. Meanwhile Hazel who was working heard the conversation and the plate fell from her hands causing it to break into pieces. Mrs. Hernandez looked at her with anger but decided to lecture her later. She bends down and started cleaning the mess. 

Mrs. Jordan: "Daniel what do you say?" 

He concentrates back to the conversation after seeing Hazel he was worried if she hurt herself fuck that plate!! He forces a smile, answering politely. 

Daniel: "Emma is..s-she is nice, but I need to give it a thought I'm not ready for such a big step I need to clear my mind" 

He says then looks into Hazel's eyes, but she quickly turns and goes inside the kitchen. The looks on everyone's face changes they all awkwardly smile and chuckle. 

Mr. Jordan: "Sure son take your time it's a really big decision" 

The rest of the time he makes a few conversations with everyone, but he wasn't fully concentrated he just wanted to end this soon and go to Hazel. The dinner ended and they left after telling goodbyes. 

Mrs. Hernandez: "Daniel me and your dad are leaving for an important work we'll be here by morning" 

Daniel: "Okay mom" 

Daniels Pov: 

I was happy now that my parents are leaving so I can talk to Hazel freely I went to the backyard seeing her sitting on the ground staring at the moon I quietly went and sat beside her. The cool night air filling his lungs as he scans the dark garden. 

Hazel: "Oh it's you" 

Daniel: "Yeah!" 

I take deep breaths steeling myself for the conversation which needs to happen. 

Daniel: "We need to talk...about what happened earlier" 

Hazel: "It was nothing" 

I huff in frustration at her nonchalant response

Daniel: "It was nothing? you overheard about the conversation of me marrying Emma. You can't seriously tell me it didn't affect you at all!" 

Hazel: "What do you expect me to say after what happened in your bedroom? It affected me to the point where I just wanted to cry, what should I do? Just stand and see you get married?" 

My expression softens at her words, irritation melting away. 

Daniel: "I'm sorry I shouldn't have expected you to just stand by and watch that happen of course it would affect you" 

I saw how she annoyedly stood up and started walking I too quickly got up following her reaching out and gently grabbing her arm turning her around to face me. 

Hazel: "It's better if we don't stay close...The closer I get to you the more feelings I develop for you...I-it hurts me" 

Daniel: "Don't say things like that I don't want you to say that's it better if we aren't together, I don't want to stay away from you" 

Hazel breaks down into tears my heart aches at the sight of her tears. I quickly pull her in my arms gently rubbing her back while she cried. 

Daniel: "Please don't cry sweetheart" 

Hazel: "I want to be close to you as much as you do but...I can't it's difficult for me" 

I tighten my hold on her. I speak in a voice thick of emotion. 

Daniel: "It's difficult for me too, you know. Seeing you every day, wanting to be close to you, but having to keep my distance. It's tearing me apart" 

Hazel: "We should stop this...you're going to get married"  

She looks up at me with slightly red eyes, I shake my head refusing to accept what she is saying. 

Daniel: "I can't do that! You can't ask me to stop my feelings for you, to just forget about us. I can't do that even if I wanted to" 

Hazel: "I will resign then...It's easy for the both of us" 

Daniel: "No! I don't want you to resign I don't want you to leave. Don't you understand? I need you here, with me. I need you in my life, even if we have to keep our relationship hidden"
