Four Months Later
At Sheikh's Villa
Falak entered the grand hall, where Faiza sat engrossed in her phone. With a warm smile, Falak greeted her.
"Assalamualaikum, bhabhi jaan," Falak said, using the affectionate term for "sister-in-law".
Faiza looked up, returning the greeting. "Walaikum assalam. Is everything ready?"
Falak nodded. "Yes, bhabhi. All the preparations are complete."
Just then, Laiba approached them, holding a dress. "Mami jaan, where should I put Zoya's dress?"
Faiza instructed, "Laiba, just put it in her room, beta."
Falak offered, "Let me take it, I'll put it away."
Laiba handed it over, saying, "Okay, you two chat, I'll go help Ramsha bhabhi get ready."
As Laiba left, Falak gently rubbed Faiza's arm and began to speak in a soothing tone, her words poured out from her heart, "Bhabhi, Ramsha is now a part of our family. I know you didn't like her initially, but she's going to be the mother of our grandchild. As a mother, you should accept her. She's going to make you a grandmother. Don't let your likes or dislikes hold you back. Move forward."
Faiza's expression remained stubborn, "No, I'll never accept her as my daughter-in-law. She's the reason my son stood up against me. She's the reason he left home."
Falak's gentle tone persisted, "Bhabhi (Sister-in-law), have you forgotten? Your husband stood up to his father to marry you, just like Rohail is doing now. What Rohail did isn't wrong either. Don't do this. Today is Ramsha's baby shower; give her the gift of your acceptance. I'm sure Rohail will also come around and things will get better between you two."
She patted the back of Faiza's hand and fhen headed to her daughter's room, leaving Faiza to ponder her words. The weight of Falak's wisdom settled in, and Faiza's thoughts began to shift.
In Ramsha's room, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and chatter as she prepared for her special day, the goud bharai (Baby shower) ceremony. Laiba and Zoya helped her get ready, admiring her dress.
Laiba exclaimed, "Ma Sha Allah, bhabhi (Sister-in-law)! This dress looks stunning on you!"
Ramsha smiled, "Thank you."
Zoya added, "Yes, bhabhi (Sister-in-law), this dress is so pretty! Is it bhaijaan's choice?"
Ramsha revealed, "No, Elhaan gave me this dress."
At the mention of Elhaan's name, Zoya's face turned pink with a blush.
Laiba teased, "Well, bhai's choice is always great! Let me help you with your jewelry."
Zoya offered, "And I'll do your makeup, bhabhi!"
Ramsha agreed enthusiastically, "Okay!"
As Laiba and Zoya continued to get Ramsha ready, a maid, Sufia, knocked on the door.
Sufia asked, "Ramsha bibi, did you call me?"
Ramsha replied, "Yes, Sufia. Did you bring the clothes I asked the tailor to make?"
Sufia confirmed, "Yes, bibi ji. And I gave them to Amreen bibi as well."
Ramsha acknowledged, "Okay, good."
But then Sufia added, "However, bibi ji, she refused to wear them."
Ramsha's expression changed to surprise, "Why???"
The room fell silent, with all eyes on Sufia.
Sufia continued, "She said she won't attend your goud bharai ceremony."
