The sound of Harry's voice pulls Ariana out of her shocked state, four pregnancy tests scattered in various spots around the bathroom.
Her husband had just returned from the last leg of his tour a little over two months prior, and to say they were enjoying each other's company was an understatement. Some days Ariana and Harry didn't leave the bedroom at all, deciding to instead bask in one another's company and make love to each other from the time she woke up, until going to bed.
Ariana wasn't sure what she was feeling. Although her and Harry were in a very loving and committed relationship, they had both agreed that now wouldn't be the best time for children.
He was still at the height of his career and even though he said on more than one occasion that he would give all that up for the opportunity to have more kids with Ariana, that wasn't what she wanted.
At least, not yet.
"Just a second, Har!" Ariana respond to her husband, hoping her voice didn't sound as shaky as she thought it did. He knew something was wrong though, of course he did—he claimed to know her better than she knows herself at times.
"Wha's goin' on in there, love?" Harry's question comes out more squeaky than intended, voice slightly higher due to the concern he currently has for Ariana's well-being. "Are you okay? Can I come in?"
With shaky hands, Ariana reached to unlock the door, the click of the lock being louder than she normally remember it being. She can feel her heart beating in her chest as Harry gently nudges the door open, a concerned look present on his features.
"You've been in 'ere for so long I thought you fell in—" Harry stops mid sentence, his gaze falling first at the pregnancy test near Ariana's feet, then the two on the counter, and lastly the one hanging over the edge of the bathtub. "What's this?"
"I'm pregnant," Ariana blurts it out quietly, almost as if she's scared that speaking too loudly will make it too real. "It's not what we were planning and I know it's not what we wanted right now but—"
"Hey," Harry stops Ariana before she can spiral too much, grabbing her hand and sitting on the edge of the bathtub with her. "Don't care about what we "planned" or any of that. Already told you I'd put everything on hold if it meant I got to have babies with you..."
"But Harry..."
"S'up to you, Ari. Yanno 'm all in if you are..."
Not ten minutes later, Ariana and Harry made the calls to Ariana's family to tell them the good news. They were going to be parents again. ————————————————————————
