Sora casually walked up the stairs of the apartment building. At the moment, he was just looking around, trying to understand what they were going to be involved in. This game hadn't started yet, the players were freely allowed to walk around the apartment building. On occasion, Sora would stop onto the floor, pull at the handles of the doors near him before continuing his walk. Sora didn't fully know what he was doing – he was just wandering. He could hear the other players moving around further down. Sora continued to walk up the stairs, hearing the elevator ding a few floors above him. Sora stepped towards the half-wall, looking up to see who had used the elevator.
Maybe the game started when the elevator dinged.
It was just Chishiya.
Sora rested his arms on the wall, looking out. He could see the lights from the other games. There was a small part of him that wondered how everyone was doing, but at the same time, Sora was worried about himself. He was involved in a game that would blow them all up in twenty minutes if they didn't find the safe zone. The safe zone could be anywhere.
There was a part of Sora that wondered if they found the explosives, if they could disarm it before the twenty minutes were up. Or if that would disqualify them, killing all of them on sight with the lasers. Sora might have an action scene in his head, but it wasn't a bad idea to think about. However, Sora knew that it wouldn't end well for them if they attempted that.
Weirder things have gotten players disqualified.
Sora patted the wall before moving away. His hands went behind his head as he walked up the stairs. Sora could hear two people heading in the same direction as him – and he knew right away who they were. Aguni and the other Beach player were headed to the top floor.
Sora wondered how much help they'd be. He hadn't gotten involved in a game with Aguni before. Honestly, Sora kept his distance from the Executives and the militants. Aguni was in charge of the militants, people that Sora kept his distance from the very moment he arrived at the Beach. Seiji told them all about the militants – and even he kept his distance.
Seiji was a manipulative person, but he didn't fuck with anyone in the militant. He was one of Hatter's recruiters and he may or may not have recruited a few people for the militant side of the Beach. Even then, he still avoided them and only ever spoke with Aguni, and that was rare.
Sora had no opinion on Aguni like he did for Hatter. Aguni was a quiet man, leading the militants, and keeping to himself. For as long as Sora had been at the Beach, Aguni didn't even engage in activities outside of playing games. Sora didn't even see him drink. The only times Sora actually ever saw Aguni was when at the start of the night before they were sent off to games and when he came back from games.
