I woke up in Billie's arms wrapped around me, holding me close even in her sleep. I watched her for a moment, the way her chest rose and fell with each breath.
Carefully, I got up trying my best not to wake her. She moved slightly but didn't wake up, and I silently made my way out of the room. I walked down the stairs.
I found my phone on the couch where I'd left it last night. Picking it up, I saw a missed call from Riley. I stared at the screen for a moment, debating whether to call her back, but decided not to.
Putting my phone in my pocket and headed back upstairs. As I re-entered the bedroom, Billie was still asleep, her face relaxed and peaceful. I climbed back into bed, snuggling up to her once more. She moved again, this time her eyes fluttering open.
"Malia?" she murmured, her voice thick with sleep.
"Good morning," I whispered, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead.
She smiled. "Good morning. Where'd you go?"
"I just went downstairs to grab my phone," I replied, wrapping my arms around her. "Didn't want to wake you."
Billie nodded, moving closer to me. "I'm glad you're back," she said.
We laid down for awhile then decided to make breakfast food.
"Do you have any plans for today?" she asked.
I shook my head, smiling at her. "Not really, but I was thinking it would be nice to go to the beach, you should come with."
Billie hesitated, her gaze dropping to her plate. "I'd love to, but you know how it is. People will see me, and it'll turn into a whole thing."
I nodded, understanding her concern. But then I had a genius idea. "I think Madi knows a private spot," I said. "It's pretty secluded, and I don't think she's working today either. She might be down to go later."
Billie looked up. "You think so?"
"Yeah," I nodded, reaching across the table to squeeze her hand. "I'll give her a call and see if she's up for it."
Billie's face lit up with a smile. "Okay. If Madi's spot is as private as you say, then I'm down."
After finishing breakfast, I grabbed my phone and called Madi. She answered on the second ring.
"What's up?"
"Hey, Billie and I were thinking about going to the beach today, but we need somewhere private. Do you know that spot you mentioned before? And are you free to join us?"
"Yeah i'll go," Madi replied without hesitation. "Meet me at our place in an hour, and we can head out together."
"Okay" I said, grinning. "Bye hoe"
I hung up and turned to Billie, who was watching me expectantly. "Madi's in and we'll meet her at our place in an hour and head out together."
Billie's smile widened. "I'll get my stuff ready."
As we opened the door to the apartment. We stepped inside, only to freeze in surprise at the sight. Kaia was sitting on the kitchen counter, her arms wrapped around Madi, and they were passionately making out.
Madi looked up, her eyes widening in shock as she saw us standing there. She quickly pulled away from Kaia, her face flushed with embarrassment.
"Oh, hey guys," she said, trying to play it cool.
