Janell...
"Okay guys, what are we going to do 'secret Santa' or just get everyone a gift. I need to know Christmas is around the corner."

"Janell,you don't get to suggest anything that we should do for the next, oh it don't know forever! All I'm going to say is remember the hike." Tracy says as she get up from the sofa heading into the kitchen.

Lord knows I don't want to think about that trip almost three months ago. I'm still in mental and physical recovery from that whole ordeal! Avery was in a plane crash, and we stayed in that cave a total of three days. Oh the horror of it all, but I digress.

"Tracy, listen we have to decided what were going to do because I need time to shop."

"I think the secret Santa is fine for the group and then we can each get our significant other something, how's that." Mercedes said.

"That's cool, we can let the gang know tomorrow at Don and Mel's dinner party." I say as I start cleaning up from dinner.

We've gotten into a routine of sorts since we've been living together. The Christmas break is coming and I decided to go home for the break. So I have to get things done before leavings this year has gone by in a blink.

"Janell! Someone is here for you."

Turning around I see Ryan and Bear of all people. I've seen them both around campus from time to time and we've texted but it's been a minute since I've talked face to face with Ryan.

"Hey Ryan, Bear." I say as I hug both guys and we walk further into the kitchen. "Hey we just finished dinner, spaghetti, we have some left would you guys like any."

"Yes"

"No"

Laughing I take the leftovers back out and made both guys plates, thankful that we didn't have to waste the food. The guys sat and began eating and talking. Mercedes and Tracy came into the kitchen and joined us.

"Hey, what bring you two famous people over to see us humble folks" Tracy ask.

Every since Ryan won the Heisman trophy he's been on tv and reports have been all around the campus.

Laughing Ryan looks at Tracy, " it's not even like that, can't I come by and see my friend and her friends and eat up her food."

"Yeah I guess, but you do know that she still has a man right!"

"Tracy! Girl what is wrong with you!" Mercedes asked.

"Child please, this man is so into Janell don't act like you don't know Mercedes.  The only one who may not know it is you Janell, heck Bear you even know it don't you big guy!"  Tracy asked patting Bear on the back. Her response, was a loud laugh from Bear which he promptly stopped once he noticed the glare from Ryan.

"Look, I know Jay has a boyfriend..."

"His name is Maverick, Mav...Rick."

"Okay, enough Tracy! Ryan knows that I have a man we are just friends that's it nothing more right Ryan."

"Well, it's no secret how I feel about you, and yes I know you have a boyfriend. But I feel I'm better for you then him, but I'm not pushing it. I value our friendship and I'm cool with it."

"Oh good Lord, what is wrong with you people. Ryan, I really do love Maverick, and if you want more then friendship then I have nothing for you." I say getting up and cleaning away the dishes.

"Janell, I've never wanted more than you could offer, I wouldn't expect you to go against your morals or do anything inappropriate. I just really enjoy your company and now your food. But I think I should go! Ladies be well, Janell I'll see you around soon. Bear, let's get going it's getting late."
