I was in a safe room for I don't know how many hours. I was in shock about what just happened.
Enzo told me the safe room is indestructible even with dynamite and I would be completely safe here. But I am still afraid.

I just woke up from my deep sleep and took a shower and was getting dressed for the day when I heard a sound so loud that I became deaf for a minute and heard a beeeeeeep sound. I got so afraid and hid in the bathroom and locked the door.

I didn't even realise when Enzo entered the bathroom. He took me to the safe room. He jumped in front of that man who was pointing a gun at me just to save me. Why did he do that for me?
Doesn't he hates me because my dad betrayed him?

I was deep in my thoughts when the door opened and a tall man dressed in just shorts entered. I got scared and jumped out of the bed. He held his hand up like he was surrendering and said "relax I am Dante, I am Enzo's friend. We got rid of the enemy and everything is safe outside for now.
I am here to escort you back to your room.
Linda will bring your lunch there."

I didn't want to believe him but when he mentioned Linda I knew he must be saying the truth why would Enzo's enemy know about Linda. Also he didn't have to make up a story he could just drag me if he wanted to after all he is so strong. It's not like I could put up much of a fight.

I nodded and walked with him. I wanted Enzo to escort me as I feel more comfortable with him, I know it's strange he is my kidnapper and the monster like everybody knows him.
But I kind of felt safe with him when he brought me to the safe room.
But he is the Enzo Russo he must be so busy with more important work, also why would he come to accompany me he must hate me for my dad's deeds.

We entered the room Dante left me there and locked the door.
After some time Linda came with lunch.
She smiled every time and greeted me good afternoon, but she was missing her warmth. She must be devastated by the attack as well. I can't imagine how she managed.
I asked her if she is okay. She smiled a little and said "yes Miss Moretti I am fine the whole staff is okay we hid in the pantry while men fought the enemy."

I nodded and complimented her cooking. As she brings such delicious food for me daily. To which she genuinely smiled this time "thank you miss Moretti". I replied "don't call me miss Moretti call me Barbara or Barb, everybody calls me Barb."
She smiled. "So how long have you been working here?" I asked her. I needed to talk to somebody or I will go mad I haven't talked to someone for almost a week and Linda is the only one who seems nice and has certain warmth. Well I met only two people here which is Enzo and Linda. I would say Linda is a safer option for interactions for obvious reasons.
She said proudly" For the past thirty years, it's like I have spent my whole life here but I am not complaining I like it here. I like cooking for my Enzo".
I smiled weirdly and said "seems like you know him so well".
To which she said "know him? he is my boy I have raised him. I have fed him all his life he used to get so cranky when he was a little boy I forced him to eat his veggies." I laughed while imagining little Enzo whining about not eating his food.

"Enzo was a good boy always smiling and pranking around but then his mother died when he was 5 and his father was strict and trained him hard to be a good leader, and he lost his smile in the process". She released a gloomy sigh.
My heart ached for young Enzo I have lost my mother when I was 11 it was so tough for me. I can't imagine how hard it must be for a five year old.

Linda and I talked and ate lunch together. She resisted but I forced her so she took an apple and ate it.
Then she left as she had to prepare for the dinner.

After having my dinner I didn't sleep early, but waited for Enzo whole night.
