Billie's POV
June 30, 2023

I took a sip from my water bottle, my ears tuned to Justin Lubliner, the CEO of my record label. Finneas sat next to me, along with other incredible team members. There was an electric anticipation in the room.

"Festivals in August want to book you as the headliner! Think of countries like Hungary, Ireland, Brazil, the United Kingdom, France, and the Netherlands, as well as the United States and Canada," Justin explained, his excitement palpable. My smile widened, and I couldn't help but laugh as I glanced at Finneas, who looked equally thrilled.

"That's amazing," I said, feeling a surge of joy. The thought of seeing my fans again and exploring new parts of the world filled me with excitement. After my year-long world tour, staying in LA had become monotonous. But things had changed for me recently. I glanced at my phone, the background a picture of Elsie from our first date. Her sudden entry into my life felt destined, and she occupied my thoughts constantly.

"Right, where do I sign?" I asked Justin, eager to wrap up the meeting and focus on my second date with Elsie.

Finneas straightened up suddenly. "Wait," he interjected, drawing everyone's attention. "If we do this, it means taking a month off from writing the new album, 'Hit Me Hard and Soft.' Are you sure, Billie?" He looked at me, concern etched on his face. I ran a hand through my hair, feeling a twinge of uncertainty.

"Yeah! I mean, I want the album to be released in May, which gives us ten months instead of eleven. We already have two songs finished. We can do this, right?" I said, raising my eyebrows in hopeful reassurance.

Finneas sighed, looking weary. "I mean, yes, ten months is still a lot. Let's do this," he nodded, turning to Justin, who seemed to gauge our commitment.
