27) Mugen Train
The four boys had recently left the butterfly mansion after a somewhat tearful goodbye with the butterfly 'triplets'. They had been walking for around a half hour, before Tanjiro's crow returned.
"Mission with Kyojuro Rengoku! Flame pillar!" It cawed, landing on the haired boy's head. "Investigate the Mugen Train!" It yelled once again. Zenitsu's jaw dropped. "Another Hashira...?" He muttered.
"Come on underlings! Hurry up!" Inosuke yelled, running head of the three, following after the crow.
"What does he even look like?" Seiko yelled, trying to get an answer from the bird. He stayed silent and flew high above them.
"Please?" He yelled again, making the crow sigh. "Fiery hair and a white cape! Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku!"
"Will you calm down?!" Zenitsu whisper-yelled as he struggled to hold Inosuke back. The boy still broke free and managed to slam his head into the metal of the train.
"Mommy, what's the man doing?" A little boy asked, pointing at Inosuke. "Oh my, how violent. Let's go get our tickets, Totohiko." She grabbed her son's hand and began walking away. He continued to stare at the four as his mother dragged him away.
"Inosuke, you're drawing unwanted attention...." Seiko whispered, a bit worried. "Let go, Monitsu! I wish to conquer the beast of this land!"
"Hey! They've got swords!" A man yelled. It was law enforcement.
"Ah, hey Inosuke we've gotta hide!" Zenitsu said, actually wrapping his arms Tanjiro's Tanjiro's torso instead of Inosuke's, dragging the long haired boy away. Seiko grabbed Inosuke.
"We need to hide our katanas." Zenitsu instructed. "Why?" Seiko asked, confusion written all over his face. "Because the demon slayer corps aren't in recognition of the law!"
Seiko and Inosuke shrugged. "They don't know about us, so we can't just parade about with our swords visible to the public eye!" He jabbed his finger at all three of them.
"Oh, I get it!" Inosuke swiftly stuffed his katanas in the back of his uniform pants and posed. "Hahah!"
"Maybe put a shirt on." He deadpanned. Zenitsu just shook his head. "You stay here, I'll go get us tickets." He muttered, leaving the three of them alone.
"I wonder what Mr. Rengoku is like...." Seiko said aloud, bringing his hand up to his chin. "What do you think, Tanjiro?" He asked. Tanjiro tore his eyes away from the ground and looked at Seiko.
"Might be nice...." He muttered, his voice yet again coming out to quiet for his own liking. "Huh?! You can talk?!" Inosuke practically screamed out, pointing a finger at Tanjiro.
The boys were dumbfounded. How did he not know? They could both swear Tanjiro spoke in front of Inosuke at least once. Maybe. Looking back on it.... He didn't.
"Of course he can talk, how else would we know his name?!" Seiko yelled, hitting Inosuke's head with his fist repeatedly. Inosuke, surprisingly, took the beating like a pro.
"Underling! Say my name!" He pointed at Tanjiro, who backed up several feet as to not be associated with whatever they were doing. "Gampachiro!" He yelled.
"Gah! What are you three doing?" Zenitsu asked, joining them again. Tanjiro shrugged. "Hey! Did you know Gampachiro can talk?!"
"Of course he can talk, idiot!""How would we be able to find that guy in a creature this big?" Inosuke asked, staring at the inside of the train in awe.
"It can't be that hard," Zenitsu said, opening a door on the train. "And we have a pretty good descript—"
"TASTY!" A man yelled as he ate from a bento box. Zenitsu flinched from the sudden loud noise. "I think we found him...." Tanjiro muttered. "Hmm? What was that Tanjiro?" Seiko asked.
"He said he thinks we found the flame Hashira...." Zenitsu muttered, while staring at the yelling man.
"Should we go talk to him?"
Before Zenitsu could even get an answer, Seiko and Inosuke were already trying to talk to him. "Hey! Wait up!" He grabbed Tanjiro's arm and went after the two brain dead idiots.
"Hello, Rengoku, right?" Seiko asked. "TASTY!" He yelled again as he looked at the four. "Uh, yeah.... We know."
"You!" He pointed to Tanjiro. "I believe you're the young boy who beheaded lower moon five!" Tanjiro looked from left to right in slight confusion. He beheaded lower five?
Tanjiro never saw the demon have any rank, so he was obviously confused. The man laughed. "A true display of strength!" Tanjiro just tilted his head to the right slightly. What strength? By any means he was weak.
Maybe it was just the transparent world that made him strong. That's how other people visualized it. He was just stronger because of that, and they don't know. Should he even try to explain?
He just chose to stay quiet in this case, leaving the other three ignored. "What are your names?" He suddenly asked Seiko, Inosuke, and Zenitsu.
"Oh, um," Seiko looked in Rengoku's eyes. "This is Zenitsu, Inosuke, and I'm Seiko. This is—"
"No need to tell me, I already know the boys name. So shall you four be accompanying me on this mission?" He asked. Seiko was taken slightly aback, but nodded."Yeah." The man laughed again. "Hahah! My name is Kyojuro Rengoku! It's very nice to meet you four!" He crossed his arms over his chest and smiled.
"Nice to meet you too...." Seiko trailed off as he glanced over to Zenitsu and Inosuke. Why was the boar halfway out of the train window? Oh who cares, comedic value that isn't comedic or had any value.
