I'm gonna be bullying Tanjiro for the next few chapters btw😼

42) Memories

The demon flung her belts as him, so which he dodged with grace. "My, you're agile. Maybe eating you whole wouldn't be so bad." That caught him off guard enough for her to slice at his shoulder.

He winced and gripped the bleeding wound. "But not agile enough." She sent more towards him, forcing him to turn his attention back to the fight.
He deflected the obi with his blade, the belts bouncing off of it and into the sky, shooting back towards him.

"What the hell are doing making so much noise out here? Is that a sword!?" A man came outside, a few people following him. He started to make a commotion.

"Take your fight somewhere else! Those of us who live here worked hard to build up the strength in our houses and you're out here having a sword fight!" He was slowly walking towards them.

"How dare you talk to me like that you ugly pig!"

Tanjiro grit his teeth. "Either stop fighting or get out of the district!" He commanded. The demon woman didn't like that. She narrowed hers and tisked. "So that's how it is?"

Her obi went in every direction, causing destruction and injury. Death. Yelps of pain sounded out as buildings collapsed and revealed women and men alike, missing a limb, deathly cut, or dead.

The man from before had his head cleanly sliced off. He gripped his wrist in pain. "Tie a rope on it to stop the bleeding." Was the only thing Tanjiro told him. The man was trembling, scared out of his mind no doubt.

He nodded and hobbled back inside. Something caught the corner of Tanjiro's eyes and he looked up. More of them?

They went into her skin as if they were attacking her. No, they were going back to her. Her head slumped forward and she smiled like a maniac. "I knew it! There is a Hashira here after all! Master Muzan will be so proud!"

She lifted her hands up to her face and held her cheeks. Tanjiro looked up at her as she jumped onto the rooftop, walking away from him. "Where are you going?" He asked her, confused on why she would simply just... leave.

Their fight wasn't over. "Hmm? Oh please, did you think I would continue fighting a weakling like you when there's a Hashira I can battle?" She looked down at him, unimpressed by his desire to finish it.

"After you hurt so many people.. and you just leave?" She scoffed. "Their lives are worth nothing. Just ugly people who are portrayed highly in this district." Tanjiro gripped the hilt of his katana tighter.

"Go find a lower demon to fight, I'm too high in ranks for you." She giggled, before turning away from him. How stupid of her.

She was dragged back by her ankle, cutting it off with her obi belt. She gasped in surprise. He wasn't this fast before.

"Disregarding the lives of others when you were once like them, is that how low you've gone?"

He dropped her cut off foot, it sliding off the tiles and hitting the ground below them.

"Those who have no respect for the dead should have no right to kill." She put her hand up to her face.

I've heard these words before. My entire body is shaking.

"Have you no shame? Going around and brutally killing others?"

"You have no right to parade around while others are suffering because of you."

These aren't my memories... they're the cells of Lord Muzan! The boy in front of me had his katana aimed at me. He wasn't like this before, he's steadier and calm. What happened?

I better eradicate him before he becomes a serious threat. I sent my belts towards him, in hopes to cut off his head. He flung his sword upwards and cut through the fabric.

"Agh—!?" It burns! Why can't I regenerate them as fast? His fighting tactic is new.

After I managed to recover my thoughts, I was fully regenerated. I shot them at him again. The first time was just a fluke! I was surprised, that's all.

They bounced off his blade one by one, not even close enough to cut him. Doesn't he get it? Unless he cuts them off they'll keep attacking.

He deflected the last belt pinned them all down in one place. It's useless, unless he can move faster than I can bend them again then he's dead.

Tanjiro adjusted the grip on his blade and lunged forward, slicing them at any opportunity. She winced and looked at him with shaky eyes. "He's fast..." she muttered, Tanjiro coming forward with his blade.

He had it aimed at her neck, ready to cut it off. When he managed to get to the skin it stretched out, turning into one of the belts. "You thought someone so lowly as you, could decapitate to someone like me?"

She scowled at him. He responded by kicking her in the gut, heading for her neck again.

"Sun breathing, sixth form, solar heat haze." He aimed for her neck, but ended up cutting through her torso.

"...ther... bre..."
"Big brother....."
"Big brother, breathe!"

He stopped what he was doing and choked on air. He gagged and coughed into his hand. "Huh?" Daki froze, looking down at the red head. A malicious grin took place on her paper white skin.

"I've got a Hashira to get to, but I guess I can do you a favor..." she giggled. "By teaching you how to decapitate your enemies!" She had her obi ready to kill him, but he grabbed the one aimed for his neck.

One stabbed into his thigh and the other his arm because If he's not horribly injured I won't know what I'm doing with my life.

"Let go!" She threw that one belt into the air, sending him flying. He let go of the best sometime when he was in the air, the torn fabric slowly making in decent.

"Huh, Tanj—" he crashed into Zenitsu, coughing. "Hey, are you oka— holy shit that's a lot of blood!" He yelped, putting pressure on Tanjiro's arm.

"Hey! Get up, you can't die already!" Inosuke yelled. Was he being helpful or a bitch? Eh, who cares.
