Chapter 49: Haunt Me

I didn't hesitate to yank the sheets off and what I found shocked my to my core.....

"No..." I whisper staggering back, my eyes wide with shock

This couldn't be happening.. it can't...

My pink teddy had a gaping hole in its head and multiple stab wounds from a knife, that wasn't what shocked me though....

Sadie was lying on the teddy with multiple deep stab wounds on the side of her stomach that are bleeding badly 

I gasp, she looks at me and meows quietly, I can hear her shallow deep breaths as she slowly fades away right in front of me, gently I bundle her in my arms

She had lost too much blood, if only I came quicker...

"Sadie don't leave me please, everyone leaves me don't leave me too" I sob as she slowly stops moving in my arms 

Sadie looks up at me and rubs her head again my arms as her eyes slowly close

I gently kiss her little head for the last time "I'm so sorry Sadie, this is all my fault" I whisper

Gently I place her under my bed on a pillow, I knew their was no chance she was going to make it but I didn't want anyone else hurting her 

A small laugh from behind me makes me turn abruptly 

Macey is leaning against the door frame of my closet smirking, "Your actually pathetic Talia, your crying over a dumb little kitten"

A deep red scratch mark on her face runs down her eye brow to her cheek

I snatch my gun from the floor and aim it straight at her tears streaming down my face

"You..."

"Yes, I stabbed your dumb kitten she scratched my gorgeous face when I tried to-"

Immediately I press the trigger without even thinking but someone knocks it out of my hands, pushing me onto the floor

I look up to see Daniel glaring at me while picking up my gun

The bullet hits the ceiling instead, my brothers weren't here to save me, I needed to save myself, but what could I do 

I never was taught self defense or even something remotely useful to protect myself, I just let it happen and then pick up the pieces later

"Impressive Talia, such a shame all that talent is going to go to waste, you have potential you know if you worked for me and our uncle you could become better then you imagine" He offers giving me a smile that makes me want to vomit

"I would rather die and your not my family and never will be" I snarl wiping the tears away that were for Sadie 

He walks closer to me and bends down smirking "You know what I have always loved about you, somehow you always get up, after Simon, Tom, -"

I deliver a punch straight to his face, surprising myself and him as he staggers backward

"And once I kill you its all going to be over" I hiss as I lift myself off the floor

Gun shots and shouting from outside the house get louder and I smirk

"Looks my brothers are here, they are going to kill all of you"

"Too bad they won't be able to make it in time to save their little sister" Macey hisses 

"What have I ever done to you Macey"
