Chapter 52: Regret

"Talia, we all don't think it is a good idea if you stay.. at the other house for a while so we all are going to be living here until it is fixed up and your ready to go home" 

My jaw drops staring at Lorenzo "Your not sending me away?"

"We are never sending you away ever so don't think like that again" 

"Okay" I whisper looking at the floor

"He's dead right?" I say randomly 

There is silence for a second "Yes Talia he is dead" 

"I did it" 

"We know Lia" Elijah tells me as he gets up and wraps me in a hug again

"And you don't think I am a terrible person?" I whisper quietly

"No" Is the only answer I get from him

"And Sadie and Angelo?" 

Lorenzo opens his mouth to say something but hesitates

"Did he make it" I pull myself out of Elijah's arms looking at Lorenzo hopefully

"Please say he did please please please" 

"Just tell her Lorenzo" Leonardo begs 

"He just got out of surgery, he made it Lia" He tells me finally

For the first time in ages I feel better, he had a chance, even if it was a small one

"And Sadie?" 

"I'm sorry Talia, it was too late to do anything" 

I nod letting the news sink in... she's not coming back

"Is it true you were going to replace me?"

The entire room goes quiet and visibly stiffens before Lorenzo talks

"We were never going to replace you but we thought maybe adopting another sister would lessen the pain, so that we could learn to accept you were never coming back, but we were never going to forget or replace you I swear" 

Just looking at my brother I could tell he was being completely honest 

Maybe this was petty but I didn't care "Were you going to give her my room or make her look and act like me because that is disgusting" 

"No" Rocco basically yells getting up quickly

"We were never going to replace you ever, and I am sorry if it feels that way, and it isn't your fault, Macey was never coming home, I told Lorenzo I didn't feel comfortable with the idea of 'replacing you' in a sort of way and we all decided we never should of even considered it"

"You can't blame yourself for something we decided Talia, before we found out you were still alive we had already decided not to adopt her, we even went as far as finding her a decent family"

"If we had adopted her, she would not have been treated well, I would never have accepted her as my sister and the others feel the same way, Lia your our only sister, I am just sorry we considered adopting a psychopath"

"She was really hurt though, and you know she's dead, Daniel killed her" I sink to the floor on my knees wiping my tears

Lorenzo gets up and kneels in front of me holding my hand 

"You know we never called her our sister, or even said she was a part of our family ever, she had no reason to feel apart of it, sure we talked to her a couple of times but she never had a reason to feel like she was our sister and I made it clear from the start"
