Blood.

Why is there so much blood?

"Ch-cherry," Saint gasped, staring down at the crimson liquid covering his trembling hands.

Red and blue lights flashed in the distance.

It sounded as if his head was underwater.

I can't hear. Why isn't she saying anything?

The sirens grew louder.

I hurt her I hurt her I hurt her I hurt her.

He felt hands grab his arms firmly, but the adrenaline and fear were too overpowering for him to process what was happening. The hands were shaken off as he finally looked up.

"I'm sorry, baby," his voice cracked, and he stared at her wide-blown eyes, the pretty brown orbs unblinking as they stared back at him.

"I'm so sorry."

Present Day

Saint opened his eyes after he rinsed the suds out of his hair.

He spent too long in the shower again, evident by the water growing cold.

Saint made quick work of soaping up the rest of his body and got out. Goosebumps rose on his skin as he stepped into the different temperature, and he shivered a bit as he wiped the cooling water drops off before knotting the towel around his waist.

He quietly entered his bedroom, stopping at his dresser before heading for the closet. He dressed warmly, opting for a thick jacket and dark denim jeans that the cold weather couldn't penetrate through easily.

Saint stepped into his bedroom again, collecting his smartwatch from its charger before looking at his bed.

Eyes of melted chocolate stared sleepily at him from the center of his bed, and his eyes widened briefly before he smiled.

"Did I wake you?"

Cerise's head shook slightly, and he approached her side of the bed and sat on the edge as he clipped the watch around his wrist.

"What time is it?" she yawned, her nose crinkling before she pulled the comforter up her face, only showing her tired eyes.

"Almost 8," he answered her, watching as she groaned and stretched her legs out.

"Are you about to go?" Cerise asked softly, her small hand poking out from the comforter to wipe the corner of her eye.

Saint nodded, "Going to sleep in?"

"Can I?" she asked after a brief pause.

Saint didn't hesitate to nod, "I'll leave the spare key."

He reached for her, pulling the blanket down her face and leaning in for a kiss goodbye. He frowned as Cerise pulled back instantaneously, her hand hovering over her mouth.

"Sai, I have morning breath."

"Cheek?" he proposed, grabbing her wrist gently and pulling her hand away from her face.

She nodded, turning her head to offer her cheek to him. Saint leaned in, pressing a kiss to her cheek before quickly landing one on her lips too.

Cerise gasped, "You liar."
