Enid's POV:

I scream as I get up to hug Bianca. "You're back!" I exclaim, holding her tightly.

"Hi, E!" She hugs back firmly. "Hey guys." The siren looks at the girls behind me.

Ajax waves to her with a tiny smile while the others just stare with no emotion on their face. Bianca sulks and turns back to me.

"Imma go. We can catch up another time, alright?" She smiles weakly. I nod and watch as she walks away and disappears into the school.

"What was that?" I exclaim as I whirl around to Yoko and Div.

Yoko blinks and shakes her head. "What was what?" She asks.

"That!" I shout, pointing behind me where Bianca walked off to. "You guys looked at her like you hated her or something," I say.

They glance at each other before looking back at me and I gasp. "Wait, you guys hate her?"

"Um, kinda. Not really. I don't know." Divina stammers over her words.

"W-W-Wh... Why?" I question as I place a hand to my head, finally sitting back down in front of them.

"How would you feel if someone just broke up with you and left without saying anything?" The vampire yells, her face flushing with anger.

I flinch a little before gathering my thoughts. "I don't know! But she did write a note and she was literally forced to!" I snap back.

"It's not the same..." She shakes her head while holding back tears. "It's not the fucking same."

"I think you're overreacting a bit." I scoff, folding my arms and glaring at her.

"You don't understand!"

Her girlfriend tries to step in. "Okay, babe, you're getting a bit snappy. Maybe let's turn it down a-"

"Shut the hell up!" Yoko screams before standing up and storming away.

After she was out of my sight, I released all the tension that was in my muscles and let out a shaky breath.

I turn to Divina to see what she has to say to me. I swear my eyes are glossy right now.

"There's a lot you don't know about, E." The siren murmurs quietly before walking away as well.

Now, since the two of them left, it's just me and Ajax.

We sit in silence for a bit, listening to the chattering from other students around us until suddenly I feel arms wrap around my body.

I look down to find a huge smile on Ajax's face as he hugs me. "Don't worry, Enid. I don't hate you enough to leave you!" He exclaims with pride.

I roll my eyes and observe his awkward behavior. "Ajax, are you high, bro?" I raise an eyebrow.

"I don't know, am I?" He asks with a cheeky grin.

I roll my eyes before quickly stuffing my hand in his pocket to find a small bag of weed. I sigh as I place it back in and back away from the smell. Great, now I need to wash my hands.

I huff, leaning my head on my non-weed scent hand. First day meeting up with friends, so far so great.

Wednesday's POV:

I hear the door slam behind me as I work on my story. I turn around to find Enid lying on her bed, sniffling.

"Cara mia, what's wrong?" I question, putting my work to the side to take care of her.

"Why are people so difficult, Wednesday?" She exclaims.
