IN THE gymnasium, filled with students for our special event, we culinary students were both nervous and excited about the dishes we were going to prepare. I was organizing my equipment, feeling the excitement and anxiety in the air.

"Yen! You can do it!" Cheered Acacia from the side while watching me.

I simply nodded in response as I looked at the ingredients laid out on my table.

I was busy arranging everything because the event was about to start soon. Grant entered, and his presence emphasized the importance of the event.

"Hey everyone! I'm excited to see what you all will prepare." He said, but his eyes were on me.

"Hi, Lou. Are you nervous? Don't worry, I know that you will win." He said as if trying to calm me down.

"I'm just a bit nervous, but I know I can do this." I replied cheerfully.

"I'm sure your dishes are delicious." He said while looking at us students who seemed very eager.

"Hello everyone! Today I will be cooking my special dish—Chicken Adobo with a twist." anunsyo ko.

"Go Yen yen!"

While I was cooking, I started to explain each step. "First, we need to marinate the chicken in soy sauce and vinegar for about 30 minutes." I said while mixing the marinade.

The combination of soy sauce and vinegar gives a rich flavor to the chicken. "Make sure to coat the chicken evenly." I added while squeezing the pieces of chicken in the marinade.

After 30 minutes, I removed the chicken from the marinade and placed it in a large pan. "Next, we will sauté some garlic and onions." I stated while heating oil.

The aroma of garlic and onions heating up is truly mouthwatering.

Parang nagutom ako, xoxo.

"This is where the magic begins."

"Now, let's add the marinated chicken into the pan." I said. While frying the chicken, Grant was intently watching my every move.

Kalma, puta.

The chicken is cooking, and I added bay leaves and pepper to enhance the flavor. "Don't forget to taste as you go." I reminded. "Adjusting flavors is key to a perfect dish."

After this, I poured in the remaining marinade along with water to extract all the flavors from the pan.

After it simmered for a few minutes, I added coconut milk. "This is what makes my Chicken Adobo unique!" I exclaimed excitedly.

As I stirred it, I noticed that the broth was gradually becoming creamy and delicious. "Let it simmer for about 15 minutes." I said while covering the pan.

After simmering, I removed the lid and checked the consistency of the broth.

"Sarap, amoy palang."

"Now it's time to serve!"

"Here you have it—my special Chicken Adobo with a twist!" I announced while looking at my audience filled with excitement.
