"You know me better than to think I'd stay away. Prove your 'point' all you want, Riddle. We both know how much we like this game."

Recovered Translated correspondents between Order Member Alexandra Brooks, to Death Eater Mattheo Riddle, 2004.

1997, Hogwarts.

Mattheo.

I knew it was her from the moment I watched her slip open the gate to the forbidden section of the library.

Given, the invisibility cloak made it harder for me to recognize her, but once I saw her wrist slip out from underneath, to grab that book. I knew it was her.

I was hiding in the shadows, watching her with a mix of curiosity and fascination.

What was Alexandra Brooks doing? Breaking into the forbidden section?

Not that she was an angel.

As far as I could tell, she was far from it.

The way she carried herself, the way she spoke back.

She was no angel.

But this, this caught me by surprise.

I couldn't help myself.

I had to get closer to her.

"Come out, come out, wherever you are," I called playfully, seeing the air ever so gently shift behind a book shelf.

I watched the air stiffen, as I got closer. I could tell she was trying to make a run for it.

But before she could make her getaway, I lunged forward, seizing the cloak with a fierce grip and ripping it away.

Breathless, she spun around to confront me, still clutching that damned book to her chest.

I couldn't help the smirk that crept onto my face as I took in her disheveled appearance.

Her dark hair, usually sleek and polished, was now tangled and knotted from being trapped under the cloak. And those eyes, those piercing, dark eyes that seemed to bore into my soul... they glared at me with a fierce intensity, as if daring me to let her go.

She was... striking, to say the least.

But I refused to admit it, even to myself.

I mean, she was just Alexandra Brooks, the notorious sharp tongued Ravenclaw, and of course, best friends to the very bane of my existence.

Harry fucking Potter.

She was nothing special, nothing worth getting worked up about.

But as I gazed at her, my eyes lingering on the curves of her face, the sharp jawline, the full lips...

I couldn't help but feel a flutter in my chest. A small, insignificant flutter, of course. Just a minor annoyance.

Yes.

She was an annoyance.

"Well, well, what do we have here?" I almost laughed, clutching the cloak in my hands.
